Craig, thanks. So....... will electrically-assisted HG (eHG) eventually take over the scene?
I don't know but the "propeller fliers" kinda' have their own, growing, association with pod casters galore. I can't even imagine strapping a propeller to my back, and calling myself a Pilot. Maybe a "fold up" propeller on the tail of the keel will evolve, right in tune with the 5'.
L/D and AOA, constantly change with the addition of a propeller, and to me it defeats the, "minimalist" beauty of the Hang Glider, but it seems that the CG, being "fixed" at the top of the harness, can only be "leveraged" by the two hands on the control bar, but the Hang Glider wing could probably "sled ride", with a sack of potatoes in the harness. Motors on hang gliders or parachute fliers , then it's not a glider, then two people and a motor, it's a passenger airplane.. ha..
Foot launched or tow launched, single pilot, Hang Gliders seem to be at the core of any association, and that's what the forever training is all about.
With stronger winds or even a wind tunnel, they could tether in place, and even go quite high. Hours of this will qualify them to actually foot launch and solo. Joe, could there be a new "tether" rating. 25+ wind = T4. For the ground crew too. Maybe three trainees rotating in and out of the harness and safety tethers. Cameras rolling and a little music.
People could make cool simple videos like these and experiment, and link them to US HAWKS, who knows? Even post them on HG.org...

Sometimes you gotta' push the stick forward while you're lookn' at the ground
I just watched this Video, I understand how this is an attempt to have assistance to a student who is in the earliest stage of learning how to Fly. But doesn't the Student need to develope a feel for Flying the Glider, using Pitch and Roll, that is decode of estainuous control imputes? I mean when there is a gust of wind say a crossing gust. Does the student know that His or Herr's Roll imputes are causing their roll imputes that were do to a Gust or a Ground Person pulling on ropes does this not set up a condition where the Student experience's confusion interpreting what the forces that are affecting the Gliders roll Axis are coming from?
Look do not interpret what i just said as in any way that I am criticizing what You are trying to do; Getting new Pilots into the Air Safely. Good on You for experimenting with a new training Technique.
