Bob Kuczewski - 2011/02/23

Tad,

I believe you're a brilliant fellow, and I'm happy to have you on this forum. Thanks for taking the time to post. I mean that very sincerely.

Bob Kuczewski - 2011/07/17

Tad is brilliant, tireless, and sometimes obnoxious.

Peter Birren - 2011/08/29

Coward Tad. Big talker. No brains. No comprehensive ability. Still spouting the same blind, ignorant crap.

Wow Bob, seems like you've just been wrong about damn near everything up to this point in your hang gliding career.

Wrong about Jack, wrong about free speech forums, wrong about encouraging people to speak up when they see something wrong, wrong about not just letting the "experts" dictate whatever policy they feel like, wrong about wanting me here, wrong about me being brilliant, even wrong about me being sometimes obnoxious - I'm ALWAYS obnoxious.

So ya think you finally got everything right now and are POSITIVE about which way to proceed?

I dunno about Jack 'cause he's got his place locked down so tight that NOTHING of any substance ever gets talked about.

But Davis isn't laughing. Davis is scared shitless of me 'cause he knows that Antoine, Ridgerodent, and Zack have cracked the code (and Mike Lake knew what it was thirty years ago) and all the positions he and his zombies ever held are crumbling big time. None of those scumbags can write three consecutive sentences without about half a dozen contradictions of stuff they've written before and one or two bald faced lies.

Davis doesn't start laughing until you follow the lead of your Rooney Harmonizer (not to be confused with Jim Gaar - the Rooney Follower) and start pushing the edit, delete, block, and ban buttons. Then it'll be easier to write me out of the history books after they start coming around to some of what I've been doing and screaming about for the past ten or twenty years - just like the BHGA did to Mike Lake and company after they figured out how to do tow bridles right (without using a lot of flappy string V kludge).

And as for the mess that hang gliding's in and the consideration that Li'l Ol' Me could've had a significant influence on anything...

DUDE!!! Thanks for the compliment! And the morale boost!

(And aren't you gonna thank ME for bringing in yet another VERY valuable member (Peter Birren) into US Hawks?)

Thanks Peter,

Yeah Peter, thanks!

Also for all your contributions to the sport.

Yeah Peter, also for all your contributions to the sport.

Which have been the Linknife and... No, that's pretty much it. The Linknife.

Unless, of course, you wanna include preserving (a quarter century after everybody outside of that isolated inbred little backwater of yours started moving on to platform and aero) the technique of foot launched surface static towing with the Hewett two-to-one center-of-mass bridle - which was obsolete before it ever got off the ground - on straight round basetubes for historical purposes.

But Sam...

You don't actually USE the Linknife, do you? You use some lunatic derivation of the three-ring release Bill Booth developed for skydiving in the Seventies (see beginning of that thread). So if his contributions are - sorry - contribution (singular) is worth all that clapping then why aren't you using them - sorry - it?

Please continue posting here at US Hawks.

But Sam...

He can't actually continue posting "HERE" 'cause "HERE" is the "missing release" thread which you locked down after your last post.

So why'd you lock it down? I can't post there 'cause it's at your Southwest Texas forum - from which you had me banned. So who ELSE are you afraid of? And why?

But Peter...

Yes. PLEASE continue posting here at US Hawks. Pretty please.

(How am I doing at encouraging free speech from people whom I despise, Bob? Isn't that really what free speech is all about?)

Nothing is farther from "reality" than this quote.
So it's not a surprise, considering the lunatic source.

What's detrimental to the sport of HG, is destructive remarks/methods being spewed out on several of the popular forums, and some
obscure forums that hang on by a string. The same thing over and over and over and over, same garbage.

Personal differences, namecalling, vulgar language, does not help.

It's easy to "really" see who is accomplishing worthwhile efforts/tasks.

Also easy to see who needs a crutch to hyper inflate a warped ego.

What's detrimental to the sport of HG, is destructive remarks/methods .... that hang on by a string.

But if that string and or method is defective then a remark that points out those errors out could be quite constructive.

We only get so many chances to screw up in hang gliding.
Happy la la land is not reality.

I haven't truck towed in so long.. surely 130 lb. greenspot isn't used there, is it?

Forget the name of the stuff we used back in the day. It was good stuff that had to really be damaged to blow tow.
I'm sure it saved my a** at least once where I was locking out low from one side of tow to over correcting to the other side and back again, finally leveling out. A wimpy weak link prescribed by the present day experts is not what I would have wanted.

Buyer beware, we told you it was dangerous doesn't add up when at the same time the "experts"
are saying 'it's my way or the hiway.'

Which is it, and why are so many pilots afraid of simple physics?

Generally no, but probably only because the weak link in the most common configurations sees 100% of the tow force (while in a aerotowing it sees ~50-60% of it). I know some use it for scooter towing at the end of a V bridle. 1 G is still commonly recommended for truck towing without any explanation as to why.

As far as I know, unlike aerotowing, there is no standard truck tow weak link...it seems to vary by location.

Fortunately, even many of those (including Jim Rooney) that regard weak links as lockout protection in aerotowing understand they're of no use in that regard with respect to payout winch towing, but even so the general philosophy seems to be that weaker is safer. And a depressing number DO think that even on a payout winch weak links provide some lockout protection.

Our local group uses four strands of 205 leech line, which breaks somewhere around 600 lbs. I'm quite happy with this, but I'm not aware of any other groups using weak links this strong.

Speaking of numbers, defective strings, lunatic sources, la la lands, obscure forums...

The Sam Show at present has racked up 5484 hits total - a good chunk of which it owes to my participation.

Kite Strings, which discourages participation by a**holes and thus loses an ENORMOUS percentage of hang gliding market share, has 7675 - forty percent over The Sam Show. And note that The Sam Show had a couple of months worth of head start as well.

My "Aerotow release options?" thread on The Jack Show has picked up 7932 hits SINCE JACK LOCKED IT DOWN 'cause he started looking like the moron he is when people started agreeing with Sir Isaac and me. That's forty-five percent over The Sam Show - just one ONE THREAD and just what it's picked up since it was locked.

Add in the original 6950 it got when it was just being attacked and and sabotaged by Jack and his douchebags I've got over 2.7 times The Sam Show on ONE LOCKED DOWN THREAD.

So Sam, you really oughta figure out what a number is before you open your mouth - or put somebody up on the end of one of your ropes.

P.S. And don't EVER expect to read anything like this:

Nobody - 2011/07/18

Hello folks.

I'm new here, been reading post for hours, it's late and my eyes hurt now. Need to sleep.

Zack, thank you for starting this. Smart move!

Tad, I like you (no bulls***) we need more like you if we are going to survive.

Tad,

Different people have different skills. If I were designing a tow release system, I would ask for your help. If I were trying to bring together a group of pilots to improve the sport of hang gliding, I would ask you to steer clear.

Tad, I invited you to this forum to give you a place to speak and to help us build a better organization. According to your own claims above, you already have a place to speak, and you don't seem to have any interest in helping us build a better organization.

So rather than having you become an increasingly bitter and destructive force at US Hawks, let me ask you to devote all of your time to building Kite Strings. I'll be happy to retain our front page link to Kite Strings, and I'm sure that there will be many cross links to your good ideas from this forum (and hopefully back again).

How does that sound?

Thanks in advance,
Bob Kuczewski

Ooops ... one more comment ...

Tad, I still agree with most of my statements that you've quoted. I do believe you are brilliant in many ways. But that doesn't mean that you can't be stupid in many other ways. Take your attitude toward Sam as a good example example. I believe you've completely misjudged him and you've allowed yourself to go off on a tangent "jihad" against Sam for no good reason. I believe you've done so because you felt some personal slight to your ego, and you can't let it go. It is this inability to keep your focus on the larger picture that undermines your ability to accomplish the things that need to be done in the sport of hang gliding.

So again, I think it might be best for you to really focus on what you're trying to do at Kite Strings. Again, how does that sound to you?

Thanks,
Bob Kuczewski
