For very light solution, Finsterwalder did it with the Superfex. This picture of my collector item from 1979 shows 15.6kg in 2m packing. The Jetfex, using the same nose frame is 18.3kg.

12 Years ago my ebike prototype was years ahead of its time at 45 lbs with bikelock and 18 mph and 20 mile range for $550.
Today my new telescopic hang glider will obtain the same success as ebikes which are now sold by the millions.

Any 36volt battery works and I have adapted Ryobi 36 batteries to connect as well. I have made new revisions to the telescopic hang glider coming soon including a 12 foot version which is simplier. With 3 batterys(2 Ryobi) I have 80 mile range with the ebike.

The drug cartel that caused years long disabillity to my shoulder and ended my hang gliding flight careear and caused wife to be 911 evacuated to hospital from planted rattle snake bite that costed California taxpayers was destroyed in June 2023 DEA arson assult that also damage the ushawks Antelope Valley hang glider compound. A tapered set of such stand-offs could help outrig a long spar.

For a TPHG 4 ft of pack length of 4 feet, but adjustments could be made for a 5-ft option of less strut density, etc. Option intent on the 4-ft deal would be a use of telescopic overlap of 6 inches, thus having left wing spars of extended length set at 16 ft less three portions of join 6" for a net of 14.5 ft left LE, and similar for the right wing; couplers would add some mass and some sail-area opportunity, if wanted; a small amount might be used for the spar joining the keel. Empennage is fully omitted in this note, but attention for such would be needed for completion. :!:

Assembly Instructions from Toted Pack
Note: Toted pack could be arranged as a low-CG wheeled pulled arrangement; and the wheels could become part of a wheeled TPHG.

Unpacking:
Open the ground cloth, which doubles as the wrapping bag for the toted pack.
Lay out the ground cloth with pre-marked positions for assembly. The ground cloth helps to keep sand and dust away from the quad-telescopic parts.

Keel Assembly:
Connect and secure the two keel parts using shear pins.
Position the keel assembly on the ground cloth as indicated.

Spar Set Placement:
Place the four spar sets according to their final wing configuration on the ground cloth.

Spar Expansion and Shear Pin Insertion: Note: If a coupler system is rather chosen, then instructions would differ.
Extend the telescopic spar segments fully.
Insert shear pins to secure the inner larger segments to the keel and attach the chordwise struts.

Diagonal Stay Lines:
