The magazine (e-zine) will be open to HG articles, HG ads, HG technology reports, HG essays, etc. HG. Zero PG matter. Only HG. HGM serves HG-only clubs and orgs. HGM invites PG interests and matter to: WPGA. Ads are free. The magazine will transfer ownership of domain and its name to a viable HG-only USA national organization that has in its bylaws a clear text that firms focus just on HG matters.

I have a copy of Hang Glider Magazine somewhere.

That sounds like a good cooperative effort for the US Hawks!!!

I like paper.
Paper tends to travel into the hands of the people you want to reach.
It also travels through time.

Rights for paper versions may be arranged.
Consider a single sheet of paper:postcard.
On the postcard: Graphics. summary, then a single URL.
Zap, the paper leads to the ezine. Subscription for the paper version: $1 per year. Two ads on the paper version might cover the printing and postage and mailing procedure; 12 issues per year. Else, a full paper magazine would be an significant enterprise in itself.

We all know what it takes. The paper magazine would go to members. The online magazine would be a free PDF. Quarterly to start. We'd be going up against a slick piece of confused junk, so cutting corners is risky. But it would cream a PG rag.

One of the few things the national org did right was to put out the digital copies old magazines on CD. I actually find reading the old "Low and Slow" and "Ground Skimmer" to be thrilling. Reading Richard Miller is absolutely amazing. The excitement of the early days is palpable.

So, yes, bring back the paper.

Speaking of Richard Miller here are a couple of photos from 1973. This is at the San Marcos hill near where he was living at the time.

One photo he is sitting and watching me put my Skysail together. In the other he is flying the Skysail with a launch assist from Ernest Feher. I had forgotten that Richard had ever flown my glider until I came across this photo when i was digitizing my old HG photos.
