Yes, the phrase "US Hawks" is sometimes used in political circles to refer to (typically right wing) war mongers.

I'm waiting for the day when some highly funded political group offers to buy our URL for a few million dollars that we can then use to fund our own insurance program so we can fly happily ever after.

:srofl:

With regard to the question, the reality is that we all want slightly different things. Some want to fly in the mountains, some want to fly at the coast. Some want insurance, some would rather not have to have it. I see my job (and the job of the Board) as trying to find a common ground that gives most of us enough of what we want to keep the group together. If we all demanded just exactly what we wanted, then we couldn't form a group of even 2 pilots ... let alone 2000. That's the challenge.   ;)

I was thinking that the US Hawks could buy the USS Gerald R. Ford for $10.4 billion and anchor it off Black's Beach. We could launch hang gliders by electromagnetic catapult, soar the cliffs, then come down and land on the deck. With 1,500 members, we could cut membership fees down to $700,000 per year each.
