Herr Hugo Eulitz
An unsung hero of hang gliding is mentioned by Otto Lilienthal.
May we aim to get to know more about Herr Hugo Eulitz. :salute:

He not only built some important apparatus (hang glider) for the king of hang gliding Otto Lilienthal,
but Herr Hugo Eulitz was distinctly flying, learning, and testing what he built for Otto. Year: 1891+.
The synergy between the two of them helped found our recreational hang gliding.
And here we are about 124 years from Herr Hugo Eulitz just getting to know him more appreciatingly :!:

Herr Hugo Eulitz was not just a "mechanic" but a hang glider maker and hang glider pilot.
Experimental test pilot! Pioneer hang glider builder and pilot :!: He was a pole of a
hang glider buddy system. Hugo was also an important observer of his own flights and
the flights of Otto Lilienthal; it seems probable that discussions between Hugo and Otto
were important for making progress in flying and in constructions.

One of the photos of Hugo held carefully by the Otto Lilienthal Museum Anklam (OLM) is of Hugo Eulitz in flight.

This seems a reasonable translation:-

Mr Hugo Eulitz is busy in my machine factory for five years. The same worked as a practical mechanical engineer and mechanic, whereupon I employed him in the technical office with drawings and Constructionsarbeiten, while temporarily even larger assembly operations were transferred to him first a year in the workshop. Mr Eulitz has formed close during this period to a skilled practitioner and usable c, which is the ordinary tasks of mechanical engineering, especially with regard to steam machine, boiler, transmissions, pumps and heating systems capable. His departure from my factory was carried out for the purpose of its further theoretical studies, which my best wishes accompany him. Otto Lilienthal

Lilienthal also operated a worker profit sharing scheme indicating his socialist leanings for the advancement of his workers and the above statement also shows his caring nature.
