Jfaust: do or do not there is not try.
dhmartens. years ago Rich Hass tried to solve this problem at Torrey and he failed.
" 40 billion people have died, this war is not supposed to be happening", " this time line must not be allowed to continue","22 years ago one ship could have stopped this war before it started"

Years ago Rich Hass had the foresight to circumvent the problems we have today, yet he failed.
He was up against more that the Klingon Empire, corrupted San Diego sea world, Police, City Council, and Mayor. We must not dismiss his efforts but rather nominate him for award for his fore-site.
You don't not have to like this but you must acknowledge it.

I respectfully disagree. Rich Hass never tried to solve the problems at Torrey. I have spent many hours on the phone talking to Rich Hass and I have spoken to him at length in person as well. I would place Rich Hass a close second behind Mark Forbes in describing what is wrong with USHPA.

Again, I respectfully disagree. Rather than trying to circumvent the problems we have today, I KNOW that Rich Hass is actually responsible for the problems we have today. When I was Director, I won a hard-fought vote for USHPA to work to increase our representation for our sports on the Torrey Pines Soaring Council. That vote was passed by the entire USHPA Board. But throughout his entire term Rich Hass ignored that vote (which was never reversed) and refused to take any steps to increase representation for our sports on that Council.

Furthermore, Rich Hass wrote and signed the letter telling me that as a Director I could not speak as a representative of USHPA even though the duties spelled out for a Director explicitly state that as a responsibility of Directors.

The legacy of Rich Hass is USHPA's uninsurability.
