I'd like to add Eric Muss-Barnes to our list of Hero Hawks.

In the last few months, Eric has produced 3 excellent videos aimed at bringing new people to the sport of hang gliding:

In Eric's introductory video he states:

"I am here to encourage passionate aspiring aviators to become true pilots, to purchase your own hang glider, to turn that dream you've always had of being in the sky into reality. I'm doing this for every 8 year old child who has stood atop a hill and imagined what it would be like to run and jump and soar into the air. Hang glider pilots have made that fantasy our reality. Those of you who yearn to fly and keep flying, you are my audience."

Well said, Eric!

Eric has also created an excellent web site for hang gliding schools and clubs. It includes a map of sites and clubs with click-through links to their own web sites. This is all available through:

But none of that makes Eric a true Hero Hero Hawk because it doesn't involve taking a personal risk. Eric transcended that final hurtle by willingly including links to our many U.S. Hawks clubs in his web site. Sadly, that will put Eric on the "suspicious" list at places like USHPA and sites like hanggliding.org. But it also makes Eric a true Hero Hawk well deserving of his "Greatest American Hero" attire.   :)

Thanks Eric!!!!
