Recreational Hang Gliding is About to Enter a New Great Era in the U.S.

I know it's probably low on the priority list, and I don't want to be selfish, but do you think the new RHG era will let me again soar the cliffs of Torrey Pines in my Falcon?

Thanks in advance.

You are not the only one in the category: we of same category may soar above the Torrey cliffs now. "We" are many more than 100.
We just need to get us to that airspace and out of that airspace without landing one in jail.
A committee could bring the best minds together to design legal pathways to and from the airspace. :!: :?:
Some solutions may involve ocean surfaces, motoring, towing, smart soaring from remote places, boating, kiting, etc.
The new era will still have corruption from involved City, but workarounds are foreseen.

Thanks. That sounds like a "no".

How about a "yes" and a "no" and a "maybe" ?
This morning I was sparking with towing each other up from running beyond mean high tide line at low tide. Get into lift and soar. Land seaside of mean high tide line. Kiting is not hang gliding; release from one's kite line is done at a point that is in Federal airspace

We might fulfill all clearances with Coast Guard for boating; pay-in winch up, release, fly to lift zone. Land with pontoons or other means.

We have yet to explore exhaustively our options for we over-100 pilots snuffed aside from the public park while waiting for City of San Diego to get smart.

I'll bring the scooter tow. We can set it up just off glider port property like the sail planes used to do in the old :( days :)

Hmmm...

Maybe I underestimated the viability of Joe's suggestion.

Can the scooter tow get a glider up to about 400 feet from the beach?
That would give us 2 options.

Sam,

I have watched pay-out winch towing of HGs up to 4500' (~1370m) AGL. A tow-boat could pull pilots up from the beach, always straight into the wind, without getting their feet wet. 8-) Since the tow line usually terminates in a retrieval parachute or ram-air kite, the boat could "fly" the tow line back to the beach, without the boat getting too close to the shore.

With the ~2,500ft capacity of the TerryTow Okie spool, I can get Ya 600 or 800ft. depending on the breeze. I think the old glider runway would be the most simple and least investment, if you could get permission , for TOW launch pilots who didn't know FL :) https://www.bing.com/search?q=fly+texas ... r+port&qs=

The boat towing is very much possible if the wave action didn't interfere. Jeff Hunt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCfeTLWEupI FlyTexas tows on Lake Buchanan just west of Austin every summer and Gregg Ludwig https://i.ytimg.com/vi/J8dsyhhvRO0/hqdefault.jpg tows on Lake Conroe just north of Houston. They have both done 1,000s of tows. Probably very much possible at Torrey
