Operation?
Pilot has wing tied down in a manner that will permit getting into posture for beginning launch operation.
Pilot is ready. Pilot disconnects the tie down and begins launch steps and launches.
All the moments while the wing is tied down to Earth, the sporadic gusts have less power to do damage.

In the video below I did the first test of launching by means of a self launch nose tether.
Since it was the first test launch I had two wing wire assistants at the ready. The release for
the nose tether was tripped by my left thumb at mid-downtube.
