Fears, and Myths, and Fairy Tales.

There are a couple of aspects regarding Flying that I do not understand. One; Landing Down-Wind - Up - Hill. I had My Fly - In, The Big Guy Fly-In up on Mount Diablo. Well I put the Spot Landing spot landing Cone in the Middle of the Juniper Ridge LZ. Well My Flying Friend Tim M said to Me; "You know You are Blowing it By asking these Pilots to Land here", Please take Note; The Juniper Ridge L-Z is set up as an Down Wind Up-Hill LZ. Tim told Me; "someone is going to get hurt". I re[plied to Tim's Comment about how Dangerous The Juniper ridge L-Z is by saying; "Tim how dangerous cab this L-Z be? For it is, oh I am not sure, but I told Tim that The L-Z was Fifteen or twenty Years old. I followed up that statement by saying; "Tim how dangerous can a landing be here, with a fail record like what this L-Z has?". To My knowledge at that Time. No Pilot had ever Had a WHACK, let alone gotten Hurt landing there. No Top landing is not inherently Dangerous. If one Has good landing Skills.

The same goes for Top=Landing a site. It really comes down to this. If You have good Skills, You wil have cousinly gooe landings.

The Fly On The Wall Landing.
Landing up hill into the wind is easy.
Landing up hill with no wind is harder to do.
Landing up hill with a tail wind is harder yet to do.
Landing down hill in a tail wind is stupid.
Landing down hill in low headwind or no wind is scary
all the way to the impact zone. (Which is just beyond the LZ.)

OK I will say it again: An LZ that is Down-Wind Up Hill that is a Down-Wind Up-Hill, the Juniper Ridge L-Z up Here in the SF Bay Area. An L-Z that Is at least 15 Years old. Where No Pilot has been observed whacking His, or Her Glider. I want to say again Landing Down-Wind Up-Hill is not a risky, nor it is a Dangerous Maneuver. Where Landing becomes an Dangerous event, is when Said Pilot has poor Skills.

I almost started a new thread. Maybe I would have called the post My miscellaneous thoughts.

But anyways here I Go; I very well might Fly, I might Fly for the first time in Twelve Years. I just hope that I will not be to forgetful regarding Flying. I told john the other Day; "I just Hope that i do not forget how to Whack a Glider. John replied; Do not worry, You well remember how to Whack. I am just hoping and I am praying that I indeed do get the chance to Whack a Condor!

Check this Equine adventure out. Oh about Two Years ago My Sister along with a Friend of ours Denis went to the Race Track over in Pleasanton. Kathleen handled picking the Horse that should be Bet on. I did the beating. Kathleen was not Spot-On that day regarding being able to pick the winner of each race. Even Though She failed to Pick a winner for each of the Ten Races. She was correct regarding picking Nine out of the Ten races that we Bet On. Even though She was Correct in picking Nine out of the Ten Races. A ninety percent win ratio is not high enough for My Fiend Pilot-X to cause X to want to go with us next time. X demands perfection. With X a Ninety Percent Win ratio is still a loosing record. Go Figure. I told the Guy at the Ticket Counter as I was cashing in My Tickets; "If I ever come here again with-out My Sister. I will bring My Gun, For this is just like Stealing".

I have always wondered about "X". He has made it clear to all of Us that He absolutely does not want His real Name used, when We put up Posts talking about Flying. I have new for "X" everyone knows Who You are "X".

FLYING;

Well with Me hopefully it will be Condor, T-2, Predator!

{TFR INFORMATION REQUEST]

So it appears that I very Well might be flying George H's 330 Wills Wing Condor this weekend. I believe that I will be Launching the Condor From most likely I will launch the Glider From Ocean Beach California Which is quite close to San Francisco. But Being that I will be Flying over the Norther California are. I feel that I should really should enact a TFR so as to keep other Pilots safe. Mid-Airs are hard to survive. Does anyone know how one goes about enacting an TFR? Yes, so as o be responsible. I need to think about the Safety of My Fellow Pilots. 925-497-1059.

Well "Flight Fans", it does seem that I will might possibly be able to take Flight on Saturday. I will Fly if Pilot-X's wife Marianna can watch their grand Children. Then that will free up "X" so that He and I can Go Fly, My Flying will be My first Flight in Twelve Years Three Months. I sure do hope that "GOOD JUDGEMENT" does not rear it's ugly head again this time when I am on launch.

One day I was talking with John. I spoke of achieving a one-hundred percent recovery. Well John replied: "Your one-hundred percent s a very large number"

You Guys should know a little bit about Me. Every Day, I get closer and Closer to be what I was before I Pounded Twelve Years ago. I really do believe that I am getting to be that Magic number regarding My Recovery. That number is of course 100. I have longed for the day that Chris Kowalski my Physical Therapist said
referring to My Question regarding; "When will I know when I am 100 percent recovered?" Chris said; "Only You will be able to say when You are One Hundred percent recovered."

One can say that One Hundred is merely a Number. But the number one-hundred is truly a special number to Me.
