Today is the last day to vote at USHPA for the 10 year term limit on the Board of Directors which is populated by people that have been around longer than 10 years and are blocking BobK from rejoining.
....."2. 10-Year Term Limit: Introducing a 10-year term limit for elected directors balances continuity and fresh perspectives, maintaining a stream of new ideas while benefiting from seasoned leadership insights. ...."

Thanks for the information Doug!! Of course, I can't see what's at the link, but I'll take your word for it.

Approval of Bylaw Revisions PLURALITY Yes - I APPROVE the revisions to the USHPA Bylaws as stated 1003 votes 82.96% No - I REJECT the revisions to the USHPA Bylaws as stated 206 votes 17.04% Yes - I APPROVE the revisions to the USHPA Bylaws as stated wins with 82.96% of the vote. 1209 votes tallied and 30 abstentions
Thanks very much, but that might be a bit premature. From what I've read, I am suspecting that the vote was on term limits for Directors. But the Directors are just the sheeple herded by USHPA's lawyer. Did they vote on term limits for Tim Herr?

BobK, Immediately stop all hostilities with Jack A. of hanggliding.org Tim H is a valuable resource for our new management company because of his resume, if he is a BobK hater he and the California BAR are gone. 82% win is greater than Reagan vs Mondale https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_Unit ... l_election
If Tim H. has any thoughts of preventing BobK from rejoining ushpa then we will allow Donald Trump to prevent the burning of Atlanta Nov 15, 1864 using the Sylmar Stargate. youtube video blocked
If my memory hasn't failed me (too badly) I think you were posting a live "play by play" during my expulsion hearing back in 2015. Thanks for caring enough to do that.
But what none of us heard during the actual "hearing" was what Tim Herr told the Directors (my supposedly impartial "jury") BEFORE the hearing.
I recently spoke to Tiki on the phone, and she let it slip that Tim Herr had spoken to all of the Directors before the actual hearing got started. She wasn't specific, but her comment made it pretty clear that Tim Herr had "leaned" pretty heavily on the Directors to expel me ... before the hearing even got started. It was a "done deal" before the first word was spoken.
I've included the full Bob Dylan song and lyrics below for your enjoyment, but this section came to mind:
All of Rubin’s cards were marked in advance The trial was a pig-circus He never had a chance The judge made Rubin’s witnesses Drunkards from the slums To the white folks who watched He was a revolutionary bum
But USHPA's "trial" wasn't even that fair. You may recall that USHPA didn't even allow me to present any of my own witnesses at all. I didn't even get the benefit of few "Drunkards from the slums" to testify for me.
My expulsion was a show trial, and it is a cloud suck of shame that owns every USHPA member who hasn't spoken out about it. Enjoy the song.
[Verse 1] Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall She sees the bartender in a pool of blood Cries out, “My God, they killed them all!”
[Chorus] Here comes the story of the Hurricane The man the authorities came to blame For something that he never done Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world
[Verse 2] Three bodies lyin' there Does Patty see And another man named Bello Moving around mysteriously “I didn’t do it,” he says And he throws up his hands “I was only robbin' the register I hope you understand
[Verse 3] I saw them leaving,” he says, and he stops “One of us had better call up the cops” And so Patty calls the cops And they arrive on the scene With their red lights flashin' In the hot New Jersey night
[Verse 4] Meanwhile, far away in another part of town Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around Number one contender for the middleweight crown Had no idea what kinda s*** was about to go down
[Verse 5] When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road Just like the time before and the time before that In Paterson that’s just the way things go If you’re black You might as well not show up on the street Unless you want to draw the heat
[Verse 6] Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowling around He said, “I saw two men running out They looked like middleweights They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates”
[Verse 7] And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head Cop said, “Wait a minute, boys, this one’s not dead” So they took him to the infirmary And though this man could hardly see They told him that he could identify the guilty men
[Verse 8] Four in the morning and they haul Rubin in They take him to the hospital and they brought him upstairs The wounded man looks up through his one dying eye Says, “Why did you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!”
[Chorus] Here’s the story of the Hurricane The man the authorities came to blame For something that he never done Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world
[Verse 9] Four months later, the ghettos are in flame Rubin’s in South America, fighting for his name While Arthur Dexter Bradley’s still in the robbery game And the cops are putting the screws to him Lookin' for somebody to blame
[Verse 10] “Remember that murder that happened in a bar?” “Remember you said you saw the getaway car?” “You think you’d like to play ball with the law?” “Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw Running that night?” “Don’t forget that you are white”
[Verse 11] Arthur Dexter Bradley said, “I’m really not sure” The cops said, “A poor boy like you could use a break We got you for the motel job And we’re talking to your friend Bello Now you don’t want to have to go back to jail Be a nice fellow
[Verse 12] You’ll be doing society a favor That son of a bitch is brave and gettin' braver We want to put his a** in stir We want to pin this triple murder On him He ain’t no Gentleman Jim”
[Verse 13] Rubin could take a man out with just one punch But he never did like to talk about it all that much "It’s my work", he’d say, "and I do it for pay And when it’s over I’d just as soon go on my way"
[Verse 14] Up to some paradise Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice And ride a horse along a trail But then they took him to the jailhouse Where they try to turn a man Into a mouse
[Verse 15] All of Rubin’s cards were marked in advance The trial was a pig-circus He never had a chance The judge made Rubin’s witnesses Drunkards from the slums To the white folks who watched He was a revolutionary bum
[Verse 16] And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigga No one doubted that he pulled the trigger And though they could not produce the gun The D.A. said he was the one Who did the deed And the all-white jury agreed
[Verse 17] Rubin Carter was falsely tried The crime was murder “one,” Guess who testified? Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride
[Verse 18] How can the life of such a man Be in the palm of some fool’s hand? To see him obviously framed Couldn’t help but make me feel ashamed To live in a land Where justice is a game
[Verse 19] Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties Are free to drink Martinis And watch the sun rise While Rubin sits like Buddha In a ten-foot cell An innocent man in a living hell
[Outro] Yes that’s the story of the Hurricane But it won’t be over till they clear his name And give him back the time he’s done Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world

Wow, 1209 votes is less than 25 in each of 50 states of the USA. Last time I looked was several years ago, and at that time total "membership" was under 9000. That's pathetically insignificant in national terms.
USHPA is already dead, they just don't know it yet.
Unless, these few deluded danglers control your favorite and dangerously overcrowded and corrupted backyard site (Torrey).
The FAA controls the air, knock on doors and be introduced, the worst they'll do is shoot ya. Negotiate for 6 people maximum, it worked for me at my "Backyard"...
It was the mid 80s when the landowner agreed to letting us use his property for launching that little ridge, and although ownership has changed several times, the launch may still be used. What was essential was that we were NOT creating a site for the 100 plus members of Cloudbase, we committed to a self regulated 6 pilot maximum use at any given time. I gave the owner my personal guarantee that it would NOT become a party, a zoo.
We caught a lot of guff from lots of Cloudbase members about that site, and about Frailey Mt too, because they wanted our "good ole boys club" to open the sites to anybody, anytime, which would have ruined it for everyone, for ever.
Cloudbase couldn't see anything besides their "one size fits all" site negotiation and management concept, but that was so unnecessary, counterproductive and downright dumb. (Hear me talking about Mt Si, CJ: how about Sauk, Davis?)
It's gone to a ridiculous extreme at Dog, it's just sad that Kool Aid was such a pretty pink color, but it matched someone's hair, y'know?
The point is, that many places, backyards in particular, are well suited to self regulated launching. These owners understood the outdoor recreation liability act, and the regulatory burden was on us, personally, anyone qualified could access those places, it just could not be a free for all like Tiger. It worked, it still works. (Frailey was destroyed by stupidity at the state DNR)!
Often times there is NOT, NOT, strength in numbers, in comparison to personal assurance. In spite of occasional city and local opposition, the backyard launch is still viable a third of a century later.
We have completed our contingency plan to remove Tim H. if it is needed. He will be processed as a terrorist and can sue Darpa all he wants. Unfortunetly the plan also targets his enabler The state bar of California https://www.calbar.ca.gov/ Other repercussions of the plan advance Gavin Newsom's political agenda. It also support Brad Sherman and Darrel Isa relection by 5%. We don't fault Tim H. for banning BobK at the time because in case of a fire the best solution is to turn off the gas, or remove the plug from the electrical outlet.

That would have been the best solution. But USHPA didn't turn off the gas. They turned off the water. And then their house burned down.
