The J-17 was no toy (as we first thought), all controls worked and the pilot trainee flew to an black and white instructional film projected forward of the aircraft from a projector mounted on the left wing, which can be seen in some of the pictures. The aircraft was balanced on a pedestal stick and tilted with the movement of the controls and activated the rudder and elevator. A fan in front provided air motion over the control surfaces.

I haven't posted on US Hawks in ages, I left my motorglider project in the shop to fly fully aerobatic quadcopter sims, while I was blind for 5 years (I've since gotten surgery to get my eyes fixed), so... salutations Who knew I would love dancing in the sky so much!
What a giant blessing, Choppergirl, you are! Good to hear of your eye progress. Your findings and shares on Volmer Jensen are simply Top Drawer matter! Thank you.....
