Pilots with 50+ Years of Hang Gliding

A recent post from Scott reminded me that we've probably got a lot of pilots with 50 years of hang gliding behind them. So I thought it might be good to make a list (why not?).

The rules (my own made up rules) for this list is that each person on the list must have made two hang gliding flights that are at least 50 years apart. Let's see who we've got.

I'll start with the people I know off the top of my head:

  • Joe Faust
  • Frank Colver
  • Matt Colver
  • Scott Wise

Any other candidates? Feel free to make suggestions even if you're not sure. Thanks in advance. :)

So here is My Deal. I began Flying down in New Zealand in January of 191. Well I came back here to California I think it was March of 1991. I never looked a down from there. Well I flew a lot. But!on 3-28-2010, I had a Hard Landing. I have not Flown since My hard Landing. So just how long will I need to Fly to say that I have flown for Fifty Years?

Here I am posting again. Well at least I am : (On Topic). I realize that My Posting on this Web-Site while I am not even Flying May strike some of You as odd. But this forced Debaticlevfrom Hang Gliding is not something that I ever gave thought to. But here I am, a broken Down Predator Pilot. But there is an Up Side. I hope that the Day will come when John comes up here to Northern California where John and I will mosey over to the Z Coast or possibly some training Hill around Here . If and when I Fly one of John's Glider's,that Flight will be the Greatest Flight that I have ever made, it also will be the greatest Flight that I will ever Make.

Hello Chris, if you started flying in January of 1991 (I think that's what you were trying to say), then you'll be a member of the 50 year club if you fly in January of 2041 (or later). You still have a few years to wait.

However, if you know of anyone else in the 50 year club, please feel free to suggest their names. I suspect John Heiney should be on that list, but maybe you can confirm that. It gives you a good excuse to give him a call!
