Morningside: A Kitty Hawk Kites Flight Park has opened its doors to the public for the 2011 season. Hang gliding lesssons, paragliding lessons and tandem hang gliding are all open and operational. The hangar even got a facelift as you can see from the pictures below. The opening day was a great success. Here are [...]

It's not just about opeing the doors, it's about what is behind the kitchen door

The only thing that worried me was the instructors, most are only a hang 1 ratings can they fly a hang glider I wonder. That kinda put Red flags up a little bit; as far as I understand, they have no advanced instructor on site or qualifications of an advanced instructor and use an observer for 3 & 4 ratings. Not sure, but there should be, I hope a basic instructor that at least has a 3 rating on site I hope...
We need to send Sam Keller down there as instructor Sam has a Hang 4 rating

Nags Head, NC, July 8, 2011 - Kitty Hawk Kites announced today that, in partnership with wind energy entrepreneur David Blittersdorf, it has reached an agreement to purchase Morningside Flight Park in Charlestown, NH. Founded in 1974, Morningside has been an important part of the hang gliding and paragliding communities for nearly 40 years. The park [...]

Situated on several hundred acres in the Connecticut River Valley, Morningside’s sloping topography makes it an ideal place to teach hang gliding and paragliding lessons. As students advance in skill, they can increase the altitude from which they launch without ever leaving the park’s training facility and be fully prepared for mountain flying.

“We know that Morningside is a very special place, and we’re grateful we can play a part in preserving it as a flight park,” said John Harris, Kitty Hawk Kites’ founder and president. “We look forward to building on what Jeff Nicolay and Phil Haynes built.”

Morningside will continue to offer beginner through advanced instruction in foot-launch and aero-tow/tandem hang gliding, as well as paragliding. Kitty Hawk Kites will also hold a community social to celebrate the park’s reopening. Details are being finalized and will be posted on Morningside Flight Park’s

I wish them Luck and safe flying

Well it sounds like a super flight park. Been around for a good time and the original owner did mega good for the sport.

Not sure if I'm the right candidate for their senior instructor. Might be "old dog, new tricks" scenerio.

We have some young Reg11 instructors that are under apprentice training, that will do us good in the not too distant future.

Kit M. is at Ellenville with plans to return to Tx. as instructor.   That does make good sence to get instructor training at a well established park.

Hopefully Kit will return as planned.

Thanks Al, for posting the news
