News G.I. Jene USHPA Program Manager

Jene most recently sold advertising for The Colorado Springs Independent, a local newspaper, and has worked in the nonprofit community for several years as a volunteer and board member.

Jene can't wait to LISTEN -- translating members' feedback to build more effective programs. From strengthening the Association's core in the Instructor, Safety and Competition programs, to building excellence and membership through the Mentor and Awards programs, to retaining membership and increasing participation through Chapters, she looks forward to helping the sport flourish, now and in its sunlit future.
A physics buff, Jene bends time to also write (shopping her memoir about sowing wild oats late), sing jazz, do yoga, paint, hike, act, incessantly reread the Dune chronicles, and volunteer in the local arts community ...and be a single mom to three intense-as-she-is children. Jene is looking forward to her first hang gliding tandem flight soon. Long before connecting with USHPA, one of her guiding quotes has been: "Don't be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can't cross a chasm in two small jumps." (David Lloyd George)
