i just made a couple of posts on the oz report on the "bad day in LA" thread. Called Scare out on his post and now I cannot log on and I see that those three posts are removed.
Is that how they operate there?

Assuming that I have indeed been banned, they go about it in a pretty "questionable" manner. He did not even have the courtesy of emailing me to let me know about my being banned.
I just could not log in and I noticed that the last three posts (mine) were removed. It would appear as if he is sensitive to Los Angelenos calling him on his Canadian take on Los Angeles shootings and riots. What a sensitive, sensitive man.

Oz report? What is an Oz report? I thought Oz was a mythical place where cowardly lions live....
Kidding,

This is soo hilarious. No foul language. I just told him that as a Canadian perhaps he should tone down on his "opinions" about Los Angeles issues.
WOW

Noman, I'm thinking you two would get along great, if you met in person. Check out what he contributes to HGAA: he's a straight thinker and shooter, and pretty level headed too. Forums can really screw it up good.

no joke man,i hate communicating over this stupid computer.Scare has edited me in the past,i really dont like it when i get edited. It does not mean i hate the guy,it just means im more inclined to not like the guy. Some of my best friends have been my enemy's in my past.
I thought the Oz report was just a rant page for Davis anyway. Being banned from the Oz report carries about as much weight as, well I'm sorry I can't think of anything else that means so little. Wear your banning proudly

"Since the cop is supposedly a "trained marksman", he could have shot the guy in the arm, and the knife would have been down. If the cop was stupid enough to get so close to the guy with the knife (a close-quarters weapon) that the guy could lunge at him and get close enough to use the knife before the cop (with the ranged weapon) would have time to aim at his arm, sure, he'd have to go for a body shot, and the guy and the knife would be down.
So what the hell was the second (killing) shot for? Corpses can't explain their side of the story later in a court of law, so there's less chance of the cop being accused of shooting someone that didn't need to be shot (the first shot). The second shot, well, the guy was probably going to become enraged (at being shot) and dangerous, so better kill him before that. Yeah."
This was posted by Scare on the ozreport. He later posted that I was ignorant. Ah, the power of the 'delete post/ban poster" button.

Not to worry Dark Cloud.
The OZ for the most part is a community of socialist leaning points of view. Government is the answer to all issues and except when it comes to police which is a throw back to the old Woodstock nation days.
I was surprised by scare doing that. Aside from the usual socialist vs. capitalist division you have a the USA /Canadian thing going on. I guess it got too much to handle.
Many Canadians seem to live their lives judging their neighbors to the south. The funny part is with all that criticism and disapproval you wonder why most of them live so close to our boarder  It seem they want to be close to us. Probably on a deeper level they really love us

It's warmer near the border. Scare must have been having a bad day as everything was souding civil.

It still surprises me when I hear or read opinions like this. Scare really should have kept them to himself since it really exposes his ignorance.
As my Dad used to say "some people just watch too much TV." Yes I am starting to look and sound like my Father, lol.
Canadians are great and I love them. I work with them and jokingly say, "Canadians, you guys are oh- so- correct, but without our economy, you would be freezing in the dark" LOL

Stupid TV making too many idiots think that a 9mm diameter piece of metal leaving a 4 inch barrel at 350 feet per second can strike the area of a pin head every time!!! Shoot his arm.....sure why not just shoot the knife outta his hand! ArGHHHH!!

Eh, I've been banned on the OZ report before, it didn't hurt my feelings any, I simply don't bug Davis, he doesn't bug me, no biggie. Personally, I think it lifts a pilot to a higher status if you HAVE been banned from the OZ report at least once! :mosh:

Are you saying it's one of the things to have to get the ACP??

I don't know about the ACP, but it's kind of a "Who's who" list!

The manner in which it was done is what bothers me. Scare stated that I am ignorant. Fine. But don't say something like that AFTER you have banned someone from posting. A bit of a double standard.
I appreciate the support that several pilots have given me. Some have disagreed. Fair enough.
I would have thought that the ozreport would have been courteous enough to inform me of my being banned. Heck, I even contributed via PayPal.
I guess hanggliding.org gets two contributions next time around.

This is just one example where a hang gliding forum moderator has banned someone and/or tampered with their posts based on personal "issues". The sport of hang gliding deserves better than this!!
