Awesome videos!!!

Thanks for sharing them!!

I liked this frame of Robin's aggressive launch:

I also liked this shot of gliders and the moon:

And I don't recognize this topless glider.

It looks like it's using struts instead of side wires. Do you know what make and model it is?

I also have 2 quick technical questions:

    1. What video editing software do you use?
    2. Where do you get your music?

Most of all, thanks for starting this topic. I can't wait to see more flying from the RGSA!!

Thanks Bob.

I recently heard the sound for these on good speakers. Especially the earlier videos aren't good sound quality. My "adventure proof" camera does not have a great mic and I just have economical headphones to listen so I didn't know that the sound could use improvement.

-- Struts Glider
I don't know anything about the glider with struts or who the pilot is. He may be one of those listed in the credits.

-- What video editing software do you use? Where do you get your music?
End credits and the text write ups for the videos list the music, software, equipment, and pilots.

I get music wherever I find public domain or creative commons or other appropriate licenses. So far most is from filmmusic.io, old free stuff at Bensound, and some Scott Buckley.

Video Editing --- Hitfilm Express
Stabilization --- Davinci Resolve, Not as easy to learn as Hitfilm.
Photo Editing --- Paint Shop Pro
Panoramas --- Microsoft ICE

I have a lot of footage for the 2018 Memorial Day Fly In. Much needs work and no time for that. Hopefully this Winter. Sky full of gliders, beautiful sunsets, many pilots ...

The strutted glider is a single surface topless from Northwing. It is being flown by Bryan, a HG pilot out of ABQ.

I really miss RGSA flying.

BTW - I am planning on going to the Guads and hope we can cobble together enough pilots for a fly in this year - Presidents Day as usual or I would also be up for an April excursion.

Now that's an interesting idea. I wonder what class it competes in? Single Surface or Topless?

I hope to make a film for the 2018 Memorial Day fly in this winter. I have a lot of good footage but I'm not having as much free time or motivation as usual winters. We'll see. Here (link) are some photos from then.

Were you at the 2018 fly in? I'd be interested in including some aerial footage and video from pilots in this one. I have not been able to do that before.

Also please report just that you flew there for the film end credits. I'll refer to Robin's write up here too.

Although I can't see them I'm assuming that the Freedom still has bottom wires to the front and rear of the keel. However, I wonder how well the keel holds up under a hard negative load in a hard landing impact?

Do other topless gliders just make the keel extra strong to handle hard landings? It certainly doesn't have the loads that the cross spar has and the freedom's strut supports that in both positive and negative loads.

My first version of my Skysail didn't have any top wires. A hard ground hit in early kiting tests broke the main cross spar. I added top wires after that incident.
