Miller Canyon

Postby Wyatt » Tue Jun 21, 2016 6:30 pm

I know it's real far for most everyone here, but Miller Canyon (Huachuca Mountains, Sierra Vista, AZ) was popping like crazy last weekend. I got 45 miles, went from there to Douglas. Hit 15 grand twice. Rodeo air, for sure. With a light N wind, I had to work to not go over the international border. John Wolfe and another pilot went 25 miles in the opposite direction. If we had a downwind flight path the miles covered would have been a lot more impressive. The Southern AZ guys are having a Miller Canyon fly-in next weekend if anyone is interested. Bring your A-game for launch, it's a little tight.

I'm hoping to be there, Wyatt. Probably with Taro. See you at the launch! (From what I've seen of the forecast, that will most likely be the north launch this time.)

Friday, June 24: Forecast for Saturday at Miller Canyon looks chancy, and it looks like all of the potential carpool pilots from here have decided to fly locally. I guess I'll go with the flow, after a talk with Eric, and fly at Dry Canyon this weekend.
