A friend notified me about a local news story regarding a partial cliff "collapse" at Torrey today. Here's the picture from a local news source:



What's interesting (at least to me) is that that area had already "collapsed" many years ago. The small peak in the middle of the collapse area was always known to me as the "southern rhino horn", and it stuck up in the middle of an area that had already slid or eroded long ago. I wouldn't have expected it to slide again given that it was far less steep than many other areas of the cliff. But maybe whatever factors caused the earlier slide(s) are still present. According to the reports, no one was injured.

I called Torrey Pines Gliderport this Morning 858-452-9858. I wanted use Due Diligence and be cleared by these Politician appointed of this Gliderport. I asked that if I were to Fly to that stretch of Beach and land. Would I need some sort of Permit slip to land on Public Land. I spoke with Savannah. Savannah told Me that I would need to haver a Prmission slip. a Waiver I Just spoke with Savanna at the Torrey Pines Glider Port. She told Me that Before I landed at Torrey Pines tjhat I woyuld need to fill out a Waiver. I do not think that Savannah has any idea what a Flight From Docweiler Beach to Torrey Pines would be a very difficult Flight to accomplish.

I have never even been to San Diego. But from what I am seeing; Public Owned Costal Beach being Controlled by Unscrupulous Persons who financial profit due to some crooked Politicians having giving away this Prime Coastal Property. Property that is actually owned by the Citizens of San Diego.
