I suspect the news would have you believe that the entire County of San Diego is on fire.
There are a few isolated pockets, and I've included a few pictures I took near Torrey yesterday.
This first picture shows the smoke on the water (isn't there a song by that name?) to the north and west of Torrey Pines. You can see part of the Torrey LZ which includes the RC landing strip to the far left of the picture:

As you can see by these photos, the wind is moving east to west (what we call a "Santa Ana" wind). This brings the hot dry desert wind which fans the fires.
