We held our annual Torrey Hawks meeting and election today (Second Sunday in September).
The current officers were re-elected by unanimous consent:

  President - Brian McMahon
  Vice President - David Beardslee
  Secretary - Bob Kuczewski

The wind was light for most of the day, so we didn't have a very big turnout.
But 100% of the hang gliding flights at Torrey today were made by members of the Torrey Hawks!!

Thanks for posting the picture of my son, Kevin. He's part of an effort to assist a young boy - named Jett Boseman - who may not see his first birthday, due to a dangerous birth defect. His parents, instead of grieving the pending loss of their young son, decided to make his short life worthwhile.

They had tee-shirts made up with a young boy in a jet plane and call it Jett's flight plan. People have the opportunity to purchase the shirts and have them photographed in different places, doing fun and exciting things and treat it as if Jett were there with them. The money raised by the sale of the tee-shirts goes to pay for Jett's expensive medical treatments. Here's a blow-up of Kevin wearing the shirt at Torrey today:



Photos like this are taken all over the country and sent to their website, where Jeff Boseman loads them into Jett's Flight Plan. It's a touching story of an amazing couple making the most of a heartbreaking situation.

USHPA did a good job of ensuring that days like that one from 2012 will now be 100% paragliding days.
