The U.S. Hawks Hang Gliding Association was founded on August 13th, 2010. But the Torrey Hawks Hang Gliding Club was founded nearly 3 years earlier. This topic contains the Torrey Hawks newsletter for September of 2010 which announced the new U.S. Hawks Hang Gliding Association (see attached document titled "20100937.pdf").
That newsletter also contained a composite photo of many of our Torrey Hawks members during our many Second Sunday events at Torrey Pines (see attached document titled "201009_Sec_Sun.pdf"). The Torrey Hawks had 220 members at that time, and the photo contained a good sample of those members. You'll find photos of Joe Faust, John Heiney, Dave Beardslee, Joe Spinney, Kenny Bryenton, Bill (Willy) Armstrong, Ernie Casco, Jay and Heather Janda, Bryan Yute, Scott Gressit, Teddy Mack, Jonathan Deitch, Maralys Wills, and many others (look closely and see how many you can identify).
