vintage mid 1960's ---
---101 southbound at Torrey Pines State Beach. La Jolla in the distance. Looked on Google Earth and found the location.
That highway bridge is still there but one lane each way now.

I can see it now!!!

Wow, look at all those old cars!

This is looking south at what we call "the Point" which is the northernmost portion of the flyable cliff. We used to be able to fly there just a few years ago, but it was shut down because it was claimed that people were landing there and relaunching. What do you want to bet that it was paragliders and not hang gliders that were doing the landing and relaunching?

By the way, can I correct the spelling on the title ("photo of Torry Cill from about 1964")? What is the word "Cill" supposed to be?

There is another picture taken from near the same location in the early 70's. It shows a VW Bug headed down the hill and a mostly empty road. The 1964 picture must have been taken at a time when I-5 didn't really exist, that traffic must have been a nightmare!
