Yes. Amended my proposal. Good. Be clear to the public! I am going with "United States" to match "U.S." in U. S. Hawks.

I've got that topic locked now, and I'll unlock it when we start voting so we can post our actual votes there. I think you're right Bill. I can't come up with anything better either. I really like the phrase "serve recreational hang gliding", and it's a great honor that those words came from Joe Faust.

It's past midnight December 4th (Hawaii time), so I've started the voting in the other topic. The choice is between Joe's proposal (" Mission Statement of U. S. Hawks Hang Gliding Association:

I was recently discussing the U.S. Hawks and our mission to protect recreational hang gliding. That prompted me to do some searching to find this historic discussion of our mission statement from 2015. If you're relatively new to the U.S. Hawks (after 2015), I hope you will enjoy this topic.

By the way, this topic highlights one of the great features of our U.S. Hawks Board. Every decision is plain to see. You can read all the history of every decision right here. You can see who suggested an idea. You can see who supported it and who opposed it. You can see all of the discussions all the way through to the final vote. And best of all, you can even participate in the discussions as they are happening by posting your thoughts to the forum. None of that happens at USHPA or any of the other national hang gliding forums or organizations.
