The Situation with Michael Grisham

Hello fellow US Hawks Board members. It seems obvious to me that Michael Grisham has intentionally made himself a liability to the US Hawks. He is posting defamatory threads and posts. And before his threat to do even worse comes about I think it's time to curtail his negative behavior. His account could be moved to the Free Speech Zone or perhaps he could be temporarily or permanently banned from the site. I would favor his posts being delayed/moderated until the nature of their content is checked, but that may involve technical adjustments to the site.

I would also suggest that his recent "off the wall" threads and posts be removed from the front page. I don't like the idea of putting them in a SG type "Basement" but maybe they could also be moved to the Free Speech Zone.

Michael's formula of generating tenfold negative matter when he perceives one negative matter (regardless of proof) is a formula for explosive destruction of all topics in the forum. Such formula does not allow critical study and handling of one statement for veracity, but simply allows him to feed back ten injurious items when he unilaterally perceives that one item is against him. He will not allow careful polite facing of a challenge. Forum visitors do not have the time to face such multiplication of promised negativity. I had wished he would stick to one complaint and unpack perspectives with the complaint in focus before reaching the explosive point.

Joe, Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with the problem? I made a couple suggestions. Perhaps you favor one, or have an idea (or ideas) of your own. I think that delaying is likely to create a bigger problem as you suggest. An initial fix that is quick but not necessarily permanent may be the best course.

I’m trying to put together a response to Michael’s claim. I’m swamped with renovation workers
And family visitors. I suggest we focus on his cesise and decist then address the other nine
Shovel full’s in a second decision.

I always like Bill's practical side. :)

We only need one more vote to establish that we feel Joe's banning was unjust.

Also, hawk891 has posted some extremely foul stuff in the Free Speech Zone. I've initiated a motion to ban hawk891 completely and start cleaning up the mess. Any help there (seconds and votes) would be appreciated.

Bob, I can't locate the "Joe's banning was unjust" topic. I think I voted, but if I can't find it then some other board member may also not be seeing it.

It was titled: "Michael Grisham's Cease and Desist Request".

I know that It's been hard to keep track with all these topics being created by the disruptors. :(

I'd Like to Make a Motion -

The motion I would like to submit to the US Hawks B.O.D. is that Michael Grisham should be given a "Time Out". This would involve a temporary revocation of membership until we, the BOD can determine the final resolution to Grisham's very negative attitude.

The longer we take to debate the issue, with Grisham freely posting his negative messages, the more our "Front Page" is damaged and the reputation of the US Hawks as a respectful HG community is hurt.

The idea behind the "Time Out" is to stop the "bleeding" first. We can then address what caused the bleeding in a timely and well thought out manner. Our discussions need not be Front Page news - until we make a final decision.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your hard work on these items so late tonight. I checked the forum when I left Dockweiler and I didn't see any of your posts, but when I got home (hours later), there were several nice surprises. Thanks!!

I would recommend adding your timeout suggestions to the Cease and Desist topic in a short (one line if possible) format similar to Bill's lead (and my following). I am thinking that when it comes time to vote, we can have each Director list the actions they support. If we find enough commonly supported actions the we can motion and vote on them.

I would also encourage everyone to add any suggested actions that we might add to that list so that all ideas are on the table.

To all US Hawks Advisory Board members,

I've suggested a motion to put Micheal Grisham on a "Time Out". I feel this action should be taken regardless of how the board votes on resolving Grisham's Cease and Desist demands. You may ask, why. Well, I do not think Grisham will accept the board's decision, particularly if/when we vote to dismiss his complaint. I also believe that Grisham has intentionally fabricated his complaint with the intent to wreak havoc here on the US Hawks forum. Whether that was his intent or not, that has been the effect. The "Time Out" will be a non permanent revocation of his US Hawks membership. Its intended purpose being, to cool things down and get things back to a more typical positive atmosphere here on the forum.
