All I had to do was move my eyeballs and my old K2 Airwave would do that.

Eagle - check it out! This isn't a cartoon :!:

FDGS Soaring - Sunday Funday 11-15-15

https://vimeo.com/146047471

The audio has been removed because it was loud, continuous, wind noise in the camera's mic.

This was Bob's Falcon (a 195 I believe).

Nobody can soar the site without prior OK from the Windsports flight school operator (Joe G or Greg D). Because the frequently used bike path is behind the bluff, anyone losing control and blowing back could cause serious injury to a number of people (and likely loss of the site for flying).

BTW - I'm planning to be there this Sunday Funday as a prelude to the following Sunday (May 22nd) which will be the 45th HG anniversary meet.

It's rare to be able to soar in a Falcon 195 (you were correct in the size Frank), but relatively common in the Condor 330. The Friends of Dockweiler recently helped out putting a new Condor 330 sail on an older frame to make one available for visiting pilots. It's a lot of fun!!!

The forecast that preceded the Falcon Soaring Day is still available here: http://ushawks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=2159 . So you can use that to compare it with any upcoming prediction.

I plan to go up this Sunday, and you're welcome to ride with me if you like. Just let me know.

That reminds me of your "unbelievable control" story of your first glider from Kite Man Johnson.

I'll also have my WW Alpha 210 there this Sunday and I'm willing to share that glider, as always. I would love to see someone soaring my glider (not me with all of those non-flying years between my last HG soaring flight and now).

It's looking like a good day!!!

The forecast is showing southwest at 12 in the afternoon and then straight west at 14 for the rest of the day.

Didn't quite work out that way - wind wise - but it was good enough for a lot of fun flying.
