Bill put his camera on the Alpha 210 owned by Bob Kuczewski (aka Robert )

It was in 1972 when I first had a camera on my HG (for a 60 Minutes TV show shoot).
Thanks, Bill.
Bill had his Dream 205 from the Bill Bennett company

The period from 10 to noon looks pretty good.

Ho, Ho, Ho?

Christmas didn't work out for a number of reasons, but we had a nice day of flying on the last day of 2019. Here was the forecast:

We arrived a little after 2pm. The actual wind tended to be SW throughout the afternoon, and it dropped off in speed rather than holding at 12 as predicted.

All 3 of the pilots who flew were from San Diego.    They were John Heiney, Bryan Yute, and myself. John also brought a distinguished elderly gentleman named Jerry (or Gerry?). We all flew my Alpha 210 (formerly owned by Joe Faust and Frank Colver).

So what are those two obstacles doing in the LZ? I can bring my chain saw for the pole.

I think the poles are there to support utilities for the lifeguard towers that are sometimes there:

So the chainsaw would be a bad idea. The poles are almost impossible to reach anyway, so it's not an issue. I think the trash cans are there to teach obstacle avoidance (and reduce littering).

The site is a true gift to hang gliding by the County of Los Angeles.   :salute:
