No wine needed, but the wind speed varies depending on the glider that you have and how much you weigh. The Condor 330 can soar with a light pilot in about 10mph. A heavier pilot will take more.

I mean the question for Mr will be as if Shakespeare wrote the Question. It will sound like this: "To Whack or not to Whack".

In 20+ years of flying Dockweiler, I don't recall any glider being seriously damaged by being whacked. But for you, the simple answer is "don't whack"!!

Frank and I had a fun day at Dockweiler on Monday (April 20, 2026). The wind wasn't quite strong enough to soar the Condor 225, but I was able to make about 25 flights. Frank caught a few of them on video.

The conditions (wind and wing) weren't good enough for Frank to fly after quite a long break from flying. But the conditions were very good for several long ground handling (ground flying) sessions. I don't remember how many sessions Frank flew, but I did think to catch one of them on camera. That session is most of the second half of this video. It was good to see Frank so relaxed with the glider (taking his hands off the bars, talking, and smiling). If there had been a little more wind or wing, I think he'd have had some nice flights. Here's the video:

It was a fun day. Thanks to Frank for being a big part of it!!!

Frank and I had another fun day at Dockweiler on May 5, 2026. The wind was light, but I made 30 flights (certified by Frank). It was a good workout and a lot of fun. Sadly, the camera ran out of battery long before I ran out of flying. Here are the first few flights:

Once again, thanks to Frank for being a big part of a fun day!!!
