Lakeview Flying..wish I could be there..

Postby redsagebear » Mon Jun 25, 2012 2:04 pm

Hello to all you wonderful gliders and sailers. I am out of the fly zone at this time. I'm sorry to not contact you sooner. I moved to Baker City, Or. I am reading and exploring about hang gliding and though I have not found any hang gliders in this county, I still have my dream. Have a great festival. Sara :ugeek:

P.S. If anyone wants to give me a call, please send me a PM (Personal Message) and I'll send you my new phone number!

Sara, I checked Google Earth around Baker City, OR and you have a good bit of rolling hills there that would make good practice training hills.
Good luck.

Baker City has some excellent hang gliding. A few years ago I went with a bunch of pilots (Phil Stonebrook, Dave Lindquist, Mike Tingey) from Joseph, Oregon to a ridge NE of Baker - sorry I can't recall the name of it now. It was an awesome flying site. Then when the snow clears off the high country you always have the Mt Baker tram at Joseph. Incredible flights there to 16,000 feet over the Wallowa Wilderness Area.
