Re: Voting Test

Thanks for more good thoughts Bill!!

The only thing I struggle with regarding the proxy voting is how to manage all the proxies and ensure that there's no "funny business" with the voting. It might also make the politics even more interesting as candidates and their supporters lobby individual voters to get their proxies.

The tricky thing about getting too creative is that there can be lots of unintended consequences. That's why I think we should be trying things out BEFORE they actually matter. So I thank everyone for participating in these tests.

And speaking of tests, I think we should try another one. But this time, we'll follow up on one of Bill's thoughts about who gets to pick the options. Let's see if we can do it dynamically on-line. Since we'll need something to vote on, I suggest that we vote on Favorite Flying Sites. Bill, would you mind starting a topic for this vote and being in charge of it?

Here's my suggestion. Open a new topic in this forum titled something like "Voting Test #2: Favorite Flying Sites". Then in the first post, specify some amount of time for people to post their nominees (maybe a few days), and how long the voting will be open after the nominations are closed (maybe another few days). But be specific so we all know the rules. All sites that are nominated will be added to the ballot regardless of how popular (or unpopular) we think they are.

Are you willing to give it a try?

Absolutely Bob, I’ve actually been hoping for a chance like this to reveal exactly how stupid and inept I really am. Thank you so much.

I’ll take a little time first to ponder this task and if anyone gets tired of waiting by all means please jump in ahead of me. Off I go now to do a little research-----
