Bob, I saw earlier where you stated that pictures were not allowed in your court room.

After the decision is it possible to put a demand in for a copy of a court video of your entire proceedings?

I see that being done all over the country and then put on Youtube.

Is there anything top secret there in San Diego that would prevent getting a copy posted to Youtube?

I don't think there was a video of the trial at all, so I don't think there's any video record to be had.

However, I do have a transcript that was "stenotyped" by one of those court reporters. The reporter herself may also have an audio record that she used to correct what she "typed" at the time, but I don't think it's available.

Before I start I just noticed a tongue behind my cheek -- oh well where was I---?
You’re probably right Bob about all the recordings of the trial not being available.

The public being able to see the work product of the local governmental judiciary proceeding could be deemed prejudicial.

In our adversarial system of law (not talking about justice for the moment) if one had an unshakable faith in our judicial system, that would fly in the face of, “Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

I mean really how could we expect any corrupt scoundrel to actually and truly believe that they are innocent until proven guilty unless the scoundrel believed that yielding to the authority of the court could even remotely end up going in the scoundrels favor? It would be imperative that this be the perception.

In the end all the legal verbiage used in the legal system yields the same outcome as a double reverse does in football.

It causes a lot of distraction away from the fact that there will always be a winner and a loser but at the end of the proceedings the judge and the two opposing lawyers take money to the bank from both the so called winners and the losers.

My father told me once, “In all of recorded history there has been a group of bright boys that had figured out how to sit with their feet up and have someone else’s labor provide for them.”

Sheer Stupidity that someone would deliberately Untie a persons glider without consent !
It seems that Bob is correct in his judgement about teaching without Helmet , and Not in the best light here airing out this laundry in public
Though i don't know Bob, and it really doesn't matter, …. it IS Correct that this type of behavior JEOPARDIZES sites All over .
Why can't we all be responsible, and Not just think of ourselves !
The Mentality has to change …. maybe USHPA should step in to reprimand instructor , for "self regulating" Doesn't always work , and we will continue to loose sites
for the few Individuals who just don't think or care about the BIG Picture.
*** & no its Not Us ( HG) vs Them ( PG ) in this situation, nor mine !

Not being allowed to fly Torrey seems pretty severe and Bob's already being subjected to that.

Here's something to read while we wait. Not to pick on Voighter Jr. It's the overall picture that "oldhgpilot" so accurately paints............
With this opinion it is understandable how OHGP went from 3thumbs up to just 1 in a total of only 10 posts.  :srofl:

there is the appearance of nepotism instead of democracy within in the system. It's concerning that the pursuit of these positions is to reach a higher status and consequently more control (with personal gains) as opposed to the overall benefit to the group. What many members fail to remember is that although we fly with insured sites through USHPA (which I don't believe is bad), these sites are typically public property.

Private property is totally different. Private owners have absolute authority to their land.

With that said, power wielded by USHPA BOD members is more important than salaried or hourly gains. It's the power to disqualify others flying at a Public Park and causing no harm based on an assumption that the pilot in question has broken a new rule (without firsthand witness). It should go without saying that it's better to live by rules that you create for your business than rules created by a competitor.

It should be okay to question leaders in a non-profit that you are forced into. It should be okay for Instructors to question cost increases. It should also be okay to question insurance claims when they are this huge unknown cost. RYAN WAS singled out because he acts like we're too stupid to understand and that we should shut up and toe the line.

The world of freeflight is filled with the most productive, innovative, and talented people I have ever met. These are doctors, lawyer, and your neighbors. It insults the intelligence of the common group when the members are not allowed to ask questions.
