Right on the money Joe! (sad to say)

And Bill,

I see the u$hPa's recent action against Bob as being based on utter absurdity but also as a form of intentional "corporate" abuse. As such, to respond or attempt to address it, at all, gives it "authority" which it does not deserve.

If I were in Bob's shoes I would ignore it and File a Federal Civil Complaint against the u$hPa for damages related to defamation, criminal harassment, and a few other counts. I'd probably include Tim Herr as an included defendant. In that case, the u$hPa would (unfortunately? :( ) be required to find another lawyer.

To avoid the expense of having a trial,
judges encourage the litigants
to try to reach an agreement resolving their dispute.

To avoid the expense and delay of having a trial, judges encourage the litigants to try to reach an agreement resolving their dispute. In particular, the courts encourage the use of mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, or "ADR," designed to produce an early resolution of a dispute without the need for trial or other court proceedings. As a result, litigants often decide to resolve a civil lawsuit with an agreement known as a "settlement."

OVER 1,300 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED ON PARAGLIDERS
            Image
For anyone not familiar with the PDMC (or PGDMC, as Joe calls it):
Paraglider pilots must fly within this zone of no recourse during takeoff and landing.
That is twice during every flight where their lives hang on fate – where they bet their lives nothing will go wrong.
This situation does not exist in any other branch of aviation except for helicopters near hover.
Paraglider deaths and severe injuries occur from entering this zone in three ways.
The first is experiencing a full or partial collapse within the zone. If the collapse cannot be recovered in time,
death or injury is a common result.
The second is entering the zone in a spiral dive.
The third is entering the zone at terminal velocity under full billowing collapse or where the pilot
has fallen inside the sail during wild oscillations.
Note that the effective deployment altitude varies with the speed of entry.

The Corporate lawyer is writing his own checks on this.
Tim Herr doesn't care what it cost to railroad Bob.
Time is (more) money to Tim Herr, and the u$hPa membership is footing the bill.

Tim Herr knows he doesn't have to negotiate an agreement. He has developed a rubber stamp culture in the BOD that can be depended on to 'win' this personalized vendetta against Bob.

Perfect new logo and great research/information, Rick.
That is a very large elephant in the middle of the room.

The facts seem clear, there must be a corporate Divorce between hang gliders and these collapsible canopies.

Some of my former posts had spelling
PGDMC
which may more properly be PDMC
Paraglider Dead Man's Curve

It's hard to raise awareness with so many hang glider pilots
paying their organizations to tell the public how safe paragliding is.
