ModelMike

Postby Bill Cummings » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:49 am

I'm trying to take some of the work out of getting ModelMike set up on the RGSA/Hawks.
My new computer has only a few pictures of ModelMike to be used as an Avatar.
For now I'm calling him ModelMike since he puts together RC models when he isn't flying hang gliders.
As Mike gets a handle on this internet website confusion he can change his Avatar/handle/nickname.

If you get a chance, please make a post to the "Hello US Hawks!!" topic in the main "Hang Gliding General" forum. It's kind of a running history of the great pilots who've joined us here on the US Hawks, and it would be great to see your name there. It's also a place to say Hi and get a warm greeting from pilots coast to coast.

Also, if you have any questions with the forum or need any help please call me any time.

Once again, Welcome to the RGSA Forum and the US Hawks!!    :salute:

Hey, Bill, who's the guy in the top picture here? I don't think it's Mike Ellsworth - he has a blue harness, and his helmet is a red open-face. But I do see our Alamogordo hills in the background.

Yes Robin that is our very own duration trophy hoarding (also trophy making) Mike.
He is modeling the late Rusty's pod harness. Rusty from AZ lost his battle to unyielding illness and Mike hopes to sell this harness for Rusty's widow.
He also has Rusty's old glider and instruments to sell if anyone is looking for some equipment that is in excellent shape. The harness looks like it only had one flight with hardly a scuff mark on the pod's toe skid.

I'm trying to remember if the harness is for a six foot to six foot six inch tall pilot or something else but that can be figured out if someone indicates that they are looking for equipment.
A post here at the Hawks website or a "PM" to mike or me (or Robin for that matter,) will get a response since we would like Rusty's wife to get something for Rusty's hang gliding gear.
EDIT @ 6:46 pm MDT: Thanks bobk for showing Mike the way into the US Hawks Hang Gliding Association website.

Welcome Mike :salute:

Sorry about your friends loss of life. Such a life fulfilling experience, hang gliding.

The gear sounds like it's in good shape.

One of our novice pilots is looking for a vario.
