Sunday Funday Dec 20th

Honoring the rich history and bright future of gliding at Dockweiler Beach

Sunday Funday Dec 20th

Postby Frank Colver » Mon Dec 14, 2015 11:53 am

A reminder that this Sunday, December 20, is another regularly scheduled 3rd Sunday "Funday" at the Dockweiler HG site. The long range weather forecast, as of today (Monday), doesn't look very promising with a 40% chance of rain through out most of the day. Wind looks good in the forecast, at this time, with W @ 13 mph mid-day. That's about perfect for me unless it's raining :(

A lot can change in the forecast, as the week progresses, so we'll keep following it.

The wind report for tomorrow (Dec 20) doesn’t look very promising at this point in time (viewed Sat morning) and considering this busy time of year, I’m going to pass on Dockweiler this “Sunday Funday”.

If any of you do go there tomorrow I hope it does turn out to be good air for you. Report back!

Yes, it's not the "soaring in a Falcon 195" weather we saw last month!! That's for sure.    :(

But it's not horrible either. It might be good "fly the Condor" weather and certainly good "ground handling an Alpha" weather.

It looks like it's going to get better in the afternoon, so I won't be in a big hurry to drive up there. I could pick you up on my way if you change your mind and would like a lift Frank. I'm sure we could tie your Alpha to my Falcon to make the trip. Just call to let me know.
