Partly in alignment with the sense of your post, BillC:

Site's lead wrote:World Hang Gliding Association

power kiting (water, ice, snow, land), wing suiting,

Imagine what focusing could accomplish! What issues in HG could use more assets than are available?

What can the US Hawks be?

The US Hawks will become the new USHGA when enough hang glider pilots realize they have no voice.
Until then, we're a pretty good place to talk about it.

That's great to see BillC. Thanks for keeping us informed. :salute:

The old 'most ever' record stood for some time. Was there an event or topic that was relevant to that record.

Is there a topic relevant to the new record.

Either way, it's a milestone.

I suggest that my posting in OzR and hanggliding.org and AirborneWindEnergy a mixing set of links that had USHawks.org in the circuit regarding the novel means to launch hang gliders may have support the blip in visits as views grew. Hundreds of views in Jack's space and Davis space ... with no comments as yet. Only at USHawks has there been replies on topic, so far.

My other theory:
The combined effect of noticing about the May 22, 2016, Dockweiler day
might have been the cause. Neil Larson, Bob Kuczewski, Frank Colver, and others might have been in a planning mode that peak visits to the site.

I've been trying to figure that out Sam but maybe Bob, as moderator, has those stats.

Good theories on the spike. I think spreading the word about next weekend's Otto meet reunion at Dockweiler is helping ... and a good idea as well.

I have every one of Bill's comparison messages (thanks Bill!!!) and I've been thinking of making a table or a plot from them. Maybe I can get around to it after the Otto Meet.

One thing is sure ... our vario is showing lift. ;)
