“Nona's health condition was very bad because he was shot three times, injuring his chest, belly and hand,” The General Director of Health in Duhok, Dr. Nizar Ismat, told Kurdistan24 on Monday. Ismat stated that Nona lost a lot of blood, and his liver was severely wounded when he was brought to the hospital on Friday.

Paragliding slaughter report for May, 2016
Of the 12 soaring parachutists I know of who were killed in May worldwide
2 drowned
1 had a heart attack in the air
1 was a passenger on a joyride who fell from his harness
8 probably died from falls when their canopies collapsed or became uncontrollable.

Powered paragliding


May 21: "Fying a motorized paraglider on Kırantepe in Serdivan, [Turkey], 30-year-old Honey Makbule Lefay [snagged] a tree at landing. She was injured after falling from a height of 6 meters."

The most recent powered paragliding fatality that I know of was that of was #207, Samuel Morette, in France.
Luckily for Christopher, this was not #208.

New threat identified for paragliding

As the canopy opened, "the pensioner stepped with one foot in a 'marmot hole' and stumbled down the slope. In the fall, he suffered a painful shoulder fracture.

This paramotorist was driving down the highway when, all the sudden, his car flew up into the air, jumped the guard rail and barrel-rolled.
Police responded to reports of an ultralight crash.
Maybe transporting a sloppily-packed canopy on the trailer was a bad idea! Expensive, too.
The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was slightly injured.
