Hello RGSA/Hawks,
Up at the Las Cruces International Airport (KLRU) on west mesa the high temperature yesterday (20th) was 95 degrees (oF).

Down here near the Rio Grande River I had two thermometers showing 104 degrees. Should someone say, "Yes, but it's a dry heat," the best course of action would be to get both hands on their neck and squeeze.

Night time lows have stayed above 70 and the daytime high all week were around 100 degrees.
If my body had an enthusiasm tank for hang gliding the needle would be resting on the empty peg.
I think Harry Martin should make a cartoon of a HG with a swamp cooler on each wing.
I used to have a similar situation during the winter when I lived in Minnesota. (USA)
When it was 20 below zero my enthusiasm tank would have needed many cans of, STOPLEAK.

The call was right for today.
The SE push from the Artesia and Carlsbad side of the Mts., did cause OD on our side of the Mts.

Sunday, July 26: Driving back north from El Paso at 11:30 this morning, it looked like overdevelopment was already happening in the Tularosa Basin. Staying on this side of the Organs and Franklins was probably the right idea for today. Keighley got a tandem PPG flight with Hadley Robinson this morning, though, about 8:15. She had a great time! About 15 or 20 minutes in the air, with wonderful views of the Sod Farm, and about 100 huge windmill blades over by the airport. I was so happy to see her big smile when they landed. Nancy and I will be travelling for a bit, so that'll be a good memory to have along with us.

Despite all the stormy weather we've been having, conditions at the Sod Farm near El Paso were lovely this morning (Sunday, June 26). My daughter Keighley got a first tandem PPG flight with tandem instructor Hadley Robinson. She had a great time, and so did Had. As of 07:00 today Sat. June 2, 2016 the forecast is showing a favorable direction but light for La Luz, NM.

Mike did not sound enthused about going to La Luz.
Taro sounded reluctant to, "throw in the towel."
But he did after I told him that a 5 minute sled ride to the LZ was what I expected the forecast would allow.

Hi, Bill! Looking at the forecast for Sunday, La Luz might work OK. If it's 10 mph on the ground, it could be 15 at launch. Our good flights back on Veterans Day happened in lighter winds. Of course, I'm not the one making the drive out there to find out.
