Too bad the USHPA didn't have a lawyer or more than one Regional Director who could read something and not take 30 years to understand it.

- Form a national hang gliding association that can read -

Now let's go into the past and see why it might be a bad idea to blindly give this lease over to these thugs. "The sins of the father..."

Thanks for posting that!!!!

I predict the City of San Diego will give the lease to the same rotten crew. The corruption runs very deep.

Bob,

I'm not sure how you do it, but if you could find out how to have the YouTube video "initial frame capture" show you with a smile every so often instead of that seriously malevolent scowl - I think that would be a good thing. But it could be that the AV techs within the City of San Diego are told to make you look like a mean and angry guy.

From person experience I know that your average facial expression is either neutral or (quite often) happy/smiling. So one sure way to keep the city from taking your most negative expression, is to smile all the while that you are criticizing SD city officials. Heck, that may annoy them more then an angry scowl.

 :problem: :lolno:

Why does the city of San Diego have to handle the Torrey Pines Gliderport differently than other cities and states handle their gliderports?

Bob wants to know why... :?: :?: :?:

Thanks Rick!!!

I didn't know that a new RFP had been issued. The City makes it very difficult for regular folks to keep track of what they're doing. :(

The City of San Diego has paid a cyclist $4.85 million after he suffered serious injuries while riding his bike on a sidewalk with uneven pavement, the largest settlement ever paid by the City of San Diego for such a case.
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/City-of-San-Diego-Pays-Out-485M-to-Cyclist-After-Serious-Injury-Crash-on-Uneven-Pavement-417347193.html

The City of San Diego should just put up a sign that says"Dangerous cliffs" and "No tandem flying" and walk away.
Local clubs could manage air time on a volunteer basis but no formal activities, requirements or restrictions would be allowed.
Rip out everything manmade and have an unmaintained natural area like it was in the 1970s.
Let people hike, or fly as is their privilege under the FARs.
The City would not be liable under California Recreational Law.
Why are the simplest solutions so hard to arrive at?
