Rubbing the puppy's nose in its excrement can be counterproductive, making it fear you.
Shaking a jar full of pennies is preferable.
The puppy will associate the noise with its bad action, instead of with the master, and seek to poop far away from the spot the next time.
This will result in a responsive and loving pet, rather than one that runs away when you approach.

Your post has motivated me to start a new topic soliciting 2 minute speeches from the pilot community. I think it would be helpfull for me to read speeches contributed by the pilot community. It might be a welcome change for the Council and it would be a way to show them that others care about the topic.
