December brings us Bob and Margie telling the San Diego City Council that if the Los Angeles County can provide waivers for pilots to fly without USHPA, then what's holding up San Diego from doing the same? Well, I guess we'll have to ask Councilmember Bry... :problem: :problem: :problem: :problem: :problem:

Council member Bry, . . . Council member Bry, . . . Calling Council member Bry! Well, . . . she seems to be AWOL. :problem:

Instead of presuming corruption (which I do think is the case) I'd love to ask Council member Bry directly, and in the public forum, "Please tell me why, here in San Diego, a waiver solution can't be put in place?"

Good job Bob!

Good job Margie!

Think Big. No waiver but only hold harmless state statute for recreation.

Agree.
While I recognize the achievement, accepting poorly written, redundant and unnecessary waivers into the future sets a poor precedent.

The waiver is - more or less - a "hold harmless" agreement.

The poor precedent was 30 years of USHPA's monopoly insurance. That's what we're chipping away at.

A waiver is really a statement of personal accountability for one's actions. I am a big fan of personal accountability and personal responsibility.

If you think about it, liability insurance is really a way of shirking responsibility and that has lots of bad consequences.

I think the Dockweiler agreement is fine, and I applaud Los Angeles County for enacting it.

Thanks Scott!!

That might be my next speech ... essentially 2 minutes of silence by Councilwoman Bry. :srofl:

It would be the easiest one I've had to write.

By the way, I don't want to forget to thank Margie for an excellent speech!!!!!!

It was very nicely done.

I also want to thank Margie for attending the meeting back in February so she could be a witness in December. Every set of eyes and every voice helps to bring the problem into the light. Thanks again!!!
