The acronyms are making my head spin!

Postby Frank Colver » Thu Sep 27, 2018 7:33 am

The frequent use of acronyms in this hobby can be confusing if one has not yet learned what certain acronyms mean. :?

I frequently look at the National Weather Service 7 day forecast discussion and they also use many acronyms. However, one notices that their acronyms are blue. If one does not know the meaning, then click on the acronym and a brief definition appears in a small window.

Can this forum be made to do that also? It would be a big help when I can't read through the acronyms.

Hello Frequently Reading Acronyms Not Knowing,

:srofl:

I don't know a way to translate acronyms in the current forum software, but maybe we could look into adding that in the future.

By the way, I'm in your neighborhood today on other business. I just called when I saw your post, but there was no answer. Please give me a call if you've got any spare time for a visit. I wasn't sure if you were back from the wilderness or I'd have called earlier.

I'm still in Utah.

Had dinner with Dave Cronk and his wife Bobbie tonight. We will all go paddling on the San Juan River Friday (tomorrow).
