Hero Hawk: Warren Narron

I like to think that we're all on a journey to find the truth. But the truth isn't always easy to find. How many millions of years did it take humans to figure out they were living on a sphere and not a plane? The truth was right beneath their feet and evidenced above their heads in the motions of the sun, moon, and stars every day and night. But people still couldn't see it.

The truth is even harder to find when it is being actively hidden by liars who benefit from the confusion of others. The most despicable people in the world are those who hide truth. Truth is the world that we have a right to know. Those who hide the truth are robbing people of their birthright to know and understand the world they were born into.

So the journey to find the truth is difficult. It's difficult on its own. It's difficult because people actively hide it. And It's even more difficult because we ourselves are so rarely willing to reverse our own beliefs when we find evidence to the contrary.

And that brings me to Hero Hawk Warren Narron. Warren has taken the hard road - the one less traveled - to dig through the posts and posts and more posts regarding the banning of Joe Faust. Warren has taken the journey to find the truth in that matter. That alone is heroic. But even beyond that, Warren has shown one of the greatest character traits when he was willing to reverse his previous viewpoint in a public statement. Warren's willingness to follow the truth - wherever it may lead - makes him a hero to me.

Thanks Warren!!!!

Hero Hawk: Ben Reese!!

Today, April 18th, 2019, Ben Reese proved himself to be among the rare few who are truly open to seeing the truth when new facts come to light. Back in 2015 Ben had essentially been lied to about the facts of my expulsion. By a twist of fate, Ben and I recently entered a conversation about other matters which led to the discussion of my expulsion. Ben shared the things he'd been told, and he was open to me presenting contradicting evidence. After quite a bit of independent research Ben did one of the hardest things a human can do ... he changed his mind on a matter where he'd peviously taken a strong public position. See Hero Hawk Warren (above) for another example. These are Ben's words (with cosmetic formatting added) that he posted to the Oz Forum earlier today:

Ben Reese wrote:
Bob Kuczewski's Expulsion Info Update

The following post is about the Life Time Expulsion of Bob Kuczewski from USHPA. These are truthful and verified statements both written and verbal gathered over time and reviewed prior to display here.

Intro:

With whatever credibility I have here in the OZreport forum, I would like to spend clearing the record of misinformation with correct information.

There are 3 issues which I hammered Bob K. with in this forum that played a part in creating his public image, convicting him of willfully harming USHPA.

They are in order of occurrence:

1. Voter Fraud of a competing organization and trying to manipulate
a vote similar to one USHPA would have had while he was an RD..

2. Personally volunteering and seeking out the opposing attorneys
in a lawsuit against USHPA. So he could testify against USHPA and
do harm to it..

3. Willfully lying in court testimony and committing perjury resulting
in the loss and $$ payout of USHPA's insurance company.

The base information came from many sources trusted by all of us. These sources were used in determining Bob's expulsion.

I am not going to spend time chasing those sources here. What I feel compelled to do is present information which can be found which is convincingly contrary to these 3 labels which helped expel Bob K. from USHPA membership and his freedom to fly for life.. This is a serious result and power that none of us should hopefully ever face.

1. Accused of Voter Fraud:

Jack (cc Transition Team Members - Note that PM would not send to all!!),

I just noticed that you've included me in the list of candidates. Yet my own candidate post (which you removed from the forum) stated:

Finally, I'd like to comment that I fully endorse Scott Wise as Transition Team Chairman in addition to myself. In fact, if Scott does accept his nomination, then I will withdraw my own candidacy in support of Scott.

Scott did accept his nomination shortly after my post, and I am therefore not a candidate.

So I ask that all of the votes for me be redistributed to Scott since that was my posted recommendation prior to the start of voting.

Thanks.
Bob Kuczewski

Bob Kuczewski wrote:As you may know, I was on USHPA's Board of Directors, and I attended 5 of the 6 USHPA Board meetings over the last 3 years. I've seen how their board operates, and I've seen what works and what doesn't work. From that perspective, I've come to believe that the greatest problem with USHPA has been a lack of insight by the general membership into what the Board does and how it does it. All of their other problems flow from that one single failing. So when I began contemplating a new national organization, I immediately thought about what we could do better. The list (as you might imagine) was pretty long, but at the top of it was accountability to our members. That means that the members should always know how we vote and how we conduct ourselves as representatives of the HGAA and particularly in all HGAA meetings and discussions. I think that is probably my primary goal for the new organization - transparency.

Finally, I'd like to comment that I fully endorse Scott Wise as Transition Team Chairman in addition to myself. In fact, if Scott does accept his nomination, then I will withdraw my own candidacy in support of Scott. I do this because I think that Scott has demonstrated the proper mix of authority and tolerance. This is a hang gliding association and it's made up of people who have a great deal of independence and self confidence. I believe our members would prefer a leader who respects that independence, and treats us with the respect that Scott has shown during his tenure as Transition Team Chair. Let's get back to where we were when we started and get behind Scott again to lead us forward.

https://ushawks.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... 98&start=6

My conclusion:

Bob makes his intentions clear from the beginning..
He is willing to run for office only if "Scott Wise" does not run..
Bob, calls Scott the better candidate and endorses him.
Scott was late to decide on running and Jack A. "SG" did not
remove Bob K. from the ballot before the vote.

Bob then asked Jack to halt the vote and update the members that a revote was the best option. Assigning Bob's votes to Scott was also discussed but was dismissed as a viable solution..

This is not voter fraud or an attempt at voter fraud. It was an attempt to provide the best candidate for members of the same party. It was an error in communication and timing that caused the rumors. Jack "SG" was supporting the opposite candidate. Bob accused "SG" of allowing the vote to be split between Him and Scott causing neither to carry the party they represented… One can argue that "SG" manipulated the outcome as well as any single person could have. "SG" had a greater fiduciary responsibility because of his control of the narrative and the flow of information.

Both Bob and SG had vested interests in different outcomes. This does not make either guilty of manipulation or voter fraud. Bob's version of the story is supported by previous communications predicting this very scenario and attempting to avoid it. Based on this info "SG" should have used his fiduciary responsibility to have a revote excluding Bob from the ballot. Same as USHPA did with the Reform re-vote, the best solution. Accusing Bob of voter fraud was an emotional response, not a logical one.

The "voter fraud" label stuck to Bob and I perpetuated it with incomplete information that wrongfully harmed Bob's credibility… I do not see his actions as voter fraud. I see him trying to serve his supporters and represent their interests as a candidate who steps aside for a more qualified candidate. Actually it's a noble action that deserves telling. It is also a powerful endorsement of a political position. A common practice in politics at every level of service.

Mr. Kuczewski:

Our office is currently investigating a potential case involving an in-air collision between two pilots at the Torrey Pines Gliderport. In doing research on potential consultants and experts in the field we came across your contact information.

The long and short of it is that our client, Shannon Hamby, was a student pilot and was being directed into the landing zone when another much more experienced pilot came in from above and negligently, recklessly and/or intentionally collided with her causing devastating injuries. You may be familiar with the incident as it caught a lot of press and had a lot of buzz within the paragliding community.

I’d like to see if you have some time early next week to discuss acting in a consultant role for us with respect to the “rules of the road” of paragliding and possibly testifying down the road as an expert in the case.

Please get back to me at your earliest convenience.

Thank you. Brett

This letter above written to Bob K. is evidence against Bob making 1st contact from opposing attorneys. I spoke to Bob in person over many months asking obvious questions before posting this..

Why and how did they choose to contact you?

"I was well known for attending the public City Council Meetings and my
name and email appeared on the meeting minutes, it's public info… "

"I was both an H4 and P4 and previous Regional Director with a history of
public scrutiny exposing unsafe practices by "ACA" Air California Adventures.
That was the defendant in this lawsuit."

"It was natural for them to approach me in discovery."

This above is a summary of some very extensive conversations between Bob and myself…

Below Copied from PDF #2:

Subject: Re: Expert Consultant in Paragliding Collision at Torrey Pines Gliderport Date: 09/29/2012 08:58:58 AM

""Mr. Schreiber,

For many years I have been trying to get the City of San Diego to provide meaningful oversight of the Torrey Pines Gliderport concessionaire for the purposes of fairness and safety. I have a long track record of those efforts.

I am continuing to pursue that goal, and my greatest concern about participating as an expert witness - in any one case - is that it may impede my ability to negotiate with the City to do a better job of oversight in general … and for all cases.

So I would need to be convinced that participating in your case would not cause me to be "shut out" at City Hall based on any real or perceived conflicts of interest. I don't know if that can be done, but if it can, then I might consider participation. Of course there may be other obstacles, but the greatest one I can see right now is my ability to work with the City to fix the problems at Torrey Pines for everyone's benefit and safety.

Please keep me advised as your selection process and the case continues.

Sincerely,
Bob Kuczewski""

This last letter is Bob's reply to 1st contact by opposing attorneys doing their jobs in discovery.
Bob's reply was considerate to the future of his sport and it's most public and famous flying site.
His agenda was disclosed as public safety and made clear to these attorneys.
His agenda was not to harm USHPA. That was the result of discovery in a lawful court case
where the truth must be discovered.. That is the basis of our very society and the duty of
every responsible and freedom loving citizen…

In light of the most recent events at Torrey resulting in 2 deaths it appears that Bob's warnings
and concerns were warranted. He continues to attend meetings at the City Council…
I think that before he attended to many of these meetings. That is my personal feeling.
This is a free country and public meetings are for the public discretion on attendance.

3. Perjury and lying in Court:

No formal accusations other than rumor that Bob lied in court. He has not been accused in court records or admonished by a judge for perjury. According to Bob's sworn words to me; not even a comment of perjury was discussed by USHPA's defense about Bob's testimony as an expert witness.

My Summary:

Nothing I have presented here are grounds for expulsion.

A case can be argued that grounds for commendations are just as likely a result?

Of course this is not likely to happen. But a case for a re-evaluation of his expulsion must be considered by a moral and honorable peer group.

My point here is that, if I am in any small way a representative and responsible to this peer group for my historical actions, then I would want them carefully examined before expelling and tearing me from the sport, so much a part of me…

We must base our decisions on valid information and if original information and assumptions are wrong then we must correct that information and those assumptions.

Sincerely,

Ben Reese

Joe Faust and Ben Reese Again!!

Joe Faust on Fri, Apr 19 2019,  4:45:59 am wrote:The USHPA sent to all members an email of a long list of supposed wrongs to support the expulsion for life;

As Ben stepped, the points in the email also were not well founded; that org would not let Bob send out a rebuttal.

It was just a big HIT and run. I lost all respect for that org at that time, stopped my membership in protest, and continued to fly HGs with zero deference to that org.

That org owes Bob big and just review and retraction.

Ben Reese: Fri, Apr 19 2019,  5:04:22 am wrote:Thanks Joe for reminding us.

Bob K. did prepare a response to these accusations.
He asked if he could have these responses sent out to the membership?

He was declined a fair and honorable rebuttal.

No doubt the correspondence I list above would have been disclosed. Some of our leaders knew of this evidence but would not allow a forum for its disclosure.. Private forums also banned him and others for speaking out and attempting to bring this evidence into the light of day.

I am mortally ashamed by this and my own judgement being manipulated by incomplete information. Other concerned pilots would also have this reaction if they knew all the details I now beleive with evidence to be true.

All of this is now history so it should be disclosed and reviewed so nothing like this ever happens again.

I hope whatever type of BOD we have after this Reform vote, takes a new look at Bob's expulsion, then makes a more informed determination…

At the very least, a pathway should be outlined for him to return as a pilot and enjoy the sport of HG.

Open letter to Region 4 directors: Ken Grubbs, Bill Belcourt,

I've decided to let my long-standing USHGA/USHPA membership expire for the following reasons:

First, none of my letters, sent to the Region #4 Directors, addressed above, were responded to, according to my wishes concerning the "Vote NO" on the expulsion of Mr. Bob Kuczewski. I may renew my membership, within three (3) years, in order to maintain my ratings, unless USHPA randomly changes the rules in order to shorten the current rating-retention grace period. Should that action take place, I will be done with USHPA permanently.

Secondly, I am, further, severely disappointed in USHPA Directors for not disciplining a Torrey Pines site instructor who abused the FAA tandem exemption while giving joy rides to children. Regarding such reckless endangerment of children, it seems obvious to me that USHPA is simply following the money in favor of heedlessly endangering children. Hanggliding/Paragliding are not carnival rides for which there is a parent-informed, reasonable acceptance of safety.

My advice is to stop catering to the business community and return to catering to the recreational pilots.

With full understanding of how insignificant my and Mr. Kuczewski's combined total of $300.00/year may be to USHPA, please consider my membership expired until USHPA does the right thing by reinstating Bob Kuczewski's exceptional standing, history,. and membership in USHPA.

Sincerely,

Hero Hawk Majiemae!!!

Today our own Magiemae (Margie) sat for 5 hours in a toe to toe deposition with ACA's lawyer (Christopher Saldana). Saldana did his best to twist her words, but Margie held firm. Margie remembered details of events and recounted them solidly.

Thanks Margie.   :salute:

I've decided to let my long-standing USHGA/USHPA membership expire for the following reasons:
...
I may renew my membership, within three (3) years, in order to maintain my ratings ...

Please renew your membership today Bill!! Don't let the current crop of rotten Directors take the ratings that you earned when many of them were still in diapers!!!
