Video page update / approval time

Postby stevedanielson » Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:45 pm

I tried to post a video on the video page with a YouTube link as described and it didn't make it yet. Do they show up immediately or do they take some time to show up on the video page?

Trying to figure out if I did it correctly.

Thank you,
Steve Danielson

Steve,
An image for video shows. But upon clicking the image, another image shows that tells reader that the video must be seen only at the YouTube site BECAUSE the owner of the video has set such restrictions that won't the video be played in an embedded way at third-party site. Consider taking off the restriction.

I took a screen print of the second step:

Then clicking on the underlined phrase takes one to see the video in all its wonderful glory at the YouTube venue. Thanks for the video!

I linked my screen print to your video, so it may be seen from clicking on the screen print herein.

Hi Steve,

You did it correctly on the forum side. The problem appears to be on the YouTube side. I'm not very familiar with all the settings in YouTube, but as Joe mentioned, there seems to be some setting that either permits or denies the embedding of videos in other web sites. I don't have a YouTube account, so I can't easily look into it from the YouTube side. If you find the setting in YouTube, please post to let other folks know how to avoid this problem.

With regard to the video, it's excellent!! If you plan to make a series, you might consider starting a Blog topic to present your videos as you like. The person who starts a Blog topic can set their own rules for posting in that topic to shape the presentation as desired.

Finally, I'm sure I speak for everyone in thanking you for your initiative in making and posting your video. That's exactly the kind of work that can help save the sport of hang gliding. Thank you!!
