On this morning I'm thinking of those who saw the sun rise over Pearl Harbor and never got to see it set. And all of the loved ones who didn't see their person again after that morning.

For me that was the morning I saw the word "WAR" on the LA Times, that my dad picked up in the driveway, and I asked him what that word meant. A loss of innocence for a six year old kid. A much greater loss for those at Pearl Harbor and the days and months and years that followed, until peace was once again restored.

This day in history, did "awaken a sleeping giant". And for me, "honoring and rememberance" of that generation on this day, is both somber and inspiring. Somber for the losses of life and innocence, but inspired by the heroism of "everyday"men and women. I honor the "everyday" men and women who "stand up straight" and take responsibility. Three people in my life come to mind, My father who joined the Army Air Force on Dec. 9th 1941, and flew into the Pacific war in his B -25 Mitchell, my friends Father, who joined the "coastal picket force" on Dec. 30 1941, and sailed his 1928 Alden schooner out into the North Sea to meet the German u boat threat, my mother, who went to work for Grumman Aircraft In 1942, to build fighter aircraft.
These are just 3 of the giants. But I remember them well, and honor them all on this day.

My friend and I say to each other "where did we get these men".(and woman)
From the start of WW11 forward, if our soldiers needed 2 fighter airplanes, we sent them 10.

Keep history alive, by respecting what it is that they sacrificed.

Barr: Durham Investigating Post-Election Spying, ‘What Was The Agenda After the Election? This is the President of the United States!’
The DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Monday released his 476-page report on FISA abuses committed by Obama’s corrupt FBI and DOJ before, during and after the 2016 election.

The report revealed what we knew to be true all along — the FBI defrauded the FISA court and purposely omitted exculpatory information from the FISA judges in order to obtain FOUR FISA warrants on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page.

Horowitz, an Obama-appointee however, concluded that the FBI investigation into Trump was justified and not politically motivated, despite 17 errors, 51 violations and 9 false statements all against Trump.

A completely ridiculous conclusion that was immediately refuted by AG Bill Barr and US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham.

Barr once again doubled down in an interview with NBC and said Trump’s camp was clearly spied upon.

That would be a terrible loss of innocence for any child, let alone a six year old, who back in the day probably still believed in Santa Clause.
Kind of a trauma based awakening that caused a lot stress for many. PTSD before they had a diagnosis for that.
By 12 or so you saw the great victory and you were a Democrat for life.
At 12 years old, I'm a little younger than you, my childhood was stressed by growing military involvement in Vietnam. I heard it was to stop the Communist from taking over the world. Year by year, I kept thinking that
this thing would be finished before too long. Surely by the time I was to register for the draft it would be over and peace 'was once again restored'.
Never happened. Yadda, yadda, a story no one wants to hear and I was a Democrat for life...

Today, I am totally disgusted with the Democrats.

I think that any lifetime Democrats with two brain cells to push together ought to be as disgusted as myself.
If you don't have an opinion because you are just waiting for the LA Times to tell you what you think, that's just as bad.

Frank, I'll ask you to please comment because you owe at least that. Let's make a poll of everyone with a pulse to comment on what they think of the most important political act in our lifetime. (maybe)

I think it's insane and it proves that a significant percentage of the population can not think for themselves and are eat up with the mind control of the Trump derangement cult.
Frank, if you still have TDS, your mind control started with that trauma based injury to your childhood innocence. After peace 'was once again restored' you probably actively avoided conflict.
You might have sensed a loss of control in your life, ceded to the powerful government that saved the world and especially the west coast.

Please tell me if I'm wrong. Did you/would you/do you still defend and support the Democratic party?

Old dog.... New dog and every dog in between, when they look into our eyes (and the do), they say "I love you, and put me to work". It's UNCONDITIONAL. If you are an " old" dog, maybe you have forgotten , their prime directive, "I love you, ...put me to work".
I was drafted in 1965, without a draft number, and straight to Vietnam, so my parents and I knew the ravages of war. I got out without too much damage to my body though, my psyche though, well that was a different story.

My dogs eyes helped save my life. Old dogs can learn new tricks, but don't forget the old tricks.
A trick I learned was "A-432 tuned music" check it out.

Mr Free I'm sorry you saw fit to muddy my respect for the men who died on Dec 7, 1941 and thereafter. My brother carried the wound he got, while in the fighting to cross the Rhine in Germany, for the rest of his life.

You sure are a poor guesser. I grew up in a totally Republican family. Campaigned and voted for Barry Goldwater and was a Republican most of my life until I decided that i didn't want to be associated with any political party and re-registered as "no party affiliation".

I don't know where you get your wild guesses about me and what I think but frankly I don't give a s**t about you our any of your opinions.

Warren, you are going too far, and I agree with Frank and Craig. I would like to ask nicely if anyone objects to having these last 5 posts (including this one) moved to the Free Speech Zone. Please offer your consent or objection in a post or posts that will also be moved to the Free Speech Zone. If everyone who's posted (Warren, Craig, Frank, and myself) offers their consent, then we won't have to waste the Board's time taking a vote.

You are wrong Frank. Free Speech and due process are sacred on this forum. Many people gave their lives to defend those rights, and we disrespect them when we trample them ... even for a noble cause.

According to our rules, members can start topics and define the bounds of those topics in the Blog Forum. That's why we have it. In the general forum, we allow topics to wander freely as they do in normal conversation.

That's not to say that we can't recognize rudeness. We can. I agree that Warren's comments were rude. Maybe Warren will agree, and we won't have to escalate the matter further. That's what's missing on the other forums, and it's another thing that we do better on the U.S. Hawks.

Warren, what do you say? Can we get your agreement to move these last posts to the Free Speech Zone?
