On Monday, June 8th, 2020, Joe Faust and I had a great day flying at Dockweiler.
The wind was strong, but crossing from the right (from the north) most of the day. There were periods when the cross component was relatively small and we were able to get great altitude and/or make some soaring flights. At other times the north cross was running parallel to the ridge making it difficult to launch and impossible to soar.
We picked up some trash from the site (including broken glass and a hypodermic needle). We also encouraged about 5 people to take lessons with Windsports from Wednesday through Sunday.

Good to see my old Alpha in the air again. And good to see you and Joe back out there again after a hiatus.
Soon there will be a new Alpha 235 flying there also.

BTW - It was my son Matt's 65th birthday. It would have been great to have him flying there also. But he is way over in Colorado - it's a bit of a drive.

We each had 14 takeoffs, 14 flights, and 14 landings. All 84 action sectors were enjoyable and without any tissue tears.
