Fly-In ideas sheet

Postby Chris McKeon » Sun Jul 18, 2021 9:50 pm

OK here I go again with thoughts, My thoughts pertaining to how I want to run my previously my Fly-In's were called "The Big Guy Fly-ins. Being that I am still Six Foot Three, But I am no Longer oh around Two Hundred Ninety Five Pounds. I do not think that I will call my Fly-in The Big Guy in the Sky Fly in. For my now being knocking on the Door at being 200 Lbs. It would be fraudulent for me to call My self the Big Guy anymore.

But it is now 9:50 Pm I need to go to sleep. I will continue listing my proposed Fly-in's rules tomorrow.

Good By Everyone. Chris McKeon

OK, I Believe you want to know why the Fly-In is called: "THE BIG GUY FLY-IN" The Fly-In is called The BIG-GUY Fly -In because for Years I being the one who initially came upwith the idea of having a Fly-in up on Mount Diablo. Alsoo being that my Nick Name was: "The Big Guy in The Sky" it seemed fitting that the Fly-in be called; "THE BIG GUY FLY-IN.

Well that was then, this is now. Yes I was hovering around 290 Lbs. Now I am edging closer and closer to being 190 Lbs. YES on March twenty eight @01o I went on a Literal Crash Diet, for I pounded myself into the Ground while flying my Beloved Predator 158. It turned out for Me anyways that weight simply dropped off my Body. Yes I did loose weight about 100 pounds. But loosing more weight has ground down to a crawl. But I have not weighed this light of a weight since oh about when I was a junior in High School. For "The Pound" Diet works, but it is not for the faint of Heart. Step one, the first phase is the pounding that one must take. Almost Die, then the weight drips off your body.

OIK, OK this my little disclaimer notice to those of You who have just Read what I wrote thinking that I really meant all that I said. No not all that I said was meant to be taken literally. Shure I did pound my self into Ground on I believe it was a Sunday the Day that I pounded myself into the Ground. But there was a lot of what I typed was typed in humor.

Seriously though. I am on the Mend. I will be able to Fly again. Drive again. Hell I will be a 100 percent recovered person who once had a case of severe Brain injury. Can You say; major Axonal Sheering?

This should give You a Basic idea of what befell Me. If you want to know more E-Mail Me directly, CCMCK@GOLDSTATE.NET. Or ask Jon Heieney about Me.

The brain is amazingly adaptable when properly stimulated. Your music and your love of flight are both great stimulators to drive you forward. Keep your ears tuned and your eyes up. We'll see you in the sky again.

You know too once again to be able to promote my Fly-In, Which used be Called; The Big Guy Fly-In. Well being that I no longer qualify as a Big Guy. For I am a 6'3" tall who formerly weighed about 295 pounds. But being that I now weigh about 205 pounds. OI think that it would be fraudulent for Me to call My Fly-in; The big Guy Fly In. If were flying right now I would, heck someday I will call my Fly-in the; The Phoenix Guy in the Sky Fly-in. Anyways I will modify the name. But regardless the Fly-in will be the same with No entry Fee, and An XC Contest . And the Spot landing Contest. Regarding the Spot landing Contest. I heard from my friend Pilot X that The Lime Ridge L-Z has been closed by The Park Staff. The Lime Ridge L-Z is where we used to have the Spot, for the S[pot Landing Contest. I wil award to the Pilot Who fly's the furthest XC an money award that will go as follows. $3.00 per mile to Club of the winning Pilot's choice and and $2.00 award to the winning Pilot Herself, or His Self. Please take Note: I have no intention of rewarding a Whack. Said winning XC Pilot could fly say say 400 Miles but whack their landing. Resulting in not receieving either the Win for the Longest XC flight nor a Cash award. The same thing goes for the Spot Landing Contest, You Whack You loose. Basically I do not want to reward a Pilot who Whacks His or Her Landings.

Well I hope that my idea too once again Hold an Fly-In will get some interest, some traction. Good By Chris McKeon 925-497-1059

Well first off I want to say that I think that it is quite cool that it seems to me anyways that all of you seem to tolerate my Blathering's here on your Web-site. You need to know that relatively not that long ago I not only could not sit down at my computer. Hell I could not even sit down at my Chair that is at my Desk. I used to exist laying in my Bed. 10 and a Half years ago I did not leave here at my House I lived in a Hospital over in Free mount California.

Ok here is a long shot that I am going to ask you Guys. You see, I just tried to call a Pilot Friend of Mine who I have not seen in years Jorge. I tried to return His call, His number is Jorge is not what I would call a "GOOD PILOT" But Jorge is a very good person. I wanted to call Him Back but I got a Phone Message saying that I could not make an international call Could, would any of you who might possibly know Jorge , would You if your are able to call Jorje Would you please call Jorje and tell him of my lack of ability that I am having i returning his Call. But that I would love to call Him Thank you so Much Chris McKeon 925-497-1059 Jorje down in Colima 523-121-480-168 I might have to UP-GRADE my phone's policy so that I will be able to call Jorje.

It is so cool. cool to Me anyways how I can simply think of new events to hold regarding My next {Big Guy Fly-In} Check this out. I was talking to a Pilot friend of Mine Kevin Dutt. Well I asked Kevin; Kevin now that I have lost 90-100 pounds will I still be able to win Speed Gliding events. Kevin said to Me. They don't have speed gliding Contests any more. Well that sobering reality settled into my Mind. But the reality that there were not any speed Gliding events where I could enter and win just like I always used to win, I was never beaten in a Speed Gliding Contest by the way. Well I got to thinking how i could combine a speed gliding contest with Flying raw distance. So check this out what do you Guys think of my idea to have a contest that is the result of comping XC with Speed Gliding? I will ask Pilots to Fly 100 Miles, 100 Miles in the direction of their choosing. The winning Pilot will be the Pilot who Fly's 100 Miles in the shortest amount of time. Yes I think that I will call it something like: {Speed Glide Century XC?} . What do you Guys Think?

From Chelan Butte I once tried a speed run XC with only me engaged
in the contest but trying to catch up to or pass pilots that had launched
before I did. Years before I had tried to keep up with John Pendrey (sp?)
during a 90 mile race at the HG Nationals. John was able to scrape me
off of his tail by getting lower then I dared.
I arrived at Davenport, WA Airport just short of three hours after John.
He taught me that I was being way to cautious to win at any speed runs.
So for my experiment I totally stuffed the bar between thermals and was
able to catch and pass the pilots that launched before me on my 32 miles
to Sim’s Corner. Speed runs to goal definitely opened my eyes to what was possible.

First off; Let me ay that You Guys really have no idea just how fun, Cool, and just great it is and will be for Me to hold Yet another Fly-in. I so want to do this, Because I feel as though I am still able to be involved with Flying. What do you Guys think regarding how I will conduct the Flying competition during My Fly-in?
My Fly-In.

I believe that I will pick a Field Somewhere oh I guess somewhere in the East. And that way I will have a Person there to witness the landings, and to get the Time of each Pilots landings. I want this XC event to be a {SPEED TO GOAL< SPOT LANDING} event. Take Note: If A Pilot whacks even if He or She fly's the fastest time to the cone. If that Pilot whacks their landing. They will not receive the first place Cash Prize. PRIZES: I will award in the Winning Pilots name, I will give the Hang-Glider Pilots choice of Hang Glider Clubs a Deposit in that Pilots Name.

This is rough draft regarding how I want to set the Fly-In up. But this should give all of You a rough idea of what I intend to do. Are their any Comments?
