Chris, here's an answer to your "flight memory" question. If you have any doubts watch my turns in this video. I'm sure you have watched this video before but this time be remembering that I had not put a hang glider into a turn in the previous 39 years. Remember that as you watch my turns.
The only thing I can add is that I did have a tendency to hold the bar in a little more than I would have if I was more currently used to banking and holding a turn. Before the end of that flight, however, I started pushing the bar out more once the glider was banked. Based on that experience I would say that I would have become more comfortable slowing up more in the turns after a few more flights, which I did not get to do.
The rest of that day was blown out, I had in injured knee from my wheel landing, and I left for home the next morning.
