Chris, I admire your motivation to create a Fly-In meet. It's a cool thing that you could do for the people who are already in the sport. But that kind of a fly-in won't bring anyone new into the sport. The sport will continue to die.

I like the idea that Craig suggested earlier:

Craig wrote:Here is a challenge Chris, write a song, video and edit yourself, playing your acoustic guitar, to show people how inspired you are to fly your Predator again, on your amazing journey. Doesn't have to be fancy or "longwinded", to tell a story.

Saving the sport of hang gliding will require reaching out. Music and video are very good tools. I think that a cool hang gliding song could be added to lots of hang gliding videos. It doesn't have to be a great song ... just better than hearing 5 minutes of wind blowing on a video. I think you should take up Craig's challenge. Besides, setting up a fly-in requires other people. In my experience, it's very tough to count on other people. But you can count on yourself. So be sure to do at least some things that don't depend on anyone else for success.

Chris wrote:Well as of now January 2022 I can say that the Day when I am back to feeling, moving, and thinking like I used to is coming.

I think that is very very very cool. But remember that even if you fully recover, you'll be fully recovered 10 years older than you were 10 years ago. Every 10 years is much harder on us than the previous 10, so be prepared to be recovered as a 60-something year old and not as a 50-something year old. That difference is important.

Hello Everyone:

You know I am on a what I think of as an Personal Journey. I work so hard in ways that I would have never Thought of regarding my efforts to regain My Physicality. Don't read into what I say, as this writing or any any other think that I have any feelings of despair. Yes I pounded myself into the ground so hard, that the initial Doctors who attended Me. They just threw their hands up in despair. They told my Friend Pilot-X that I would not survive. I just love this statement made by an inept, hack, charlatan. idiot, Moron Doctor to My Sister. He said to my Sister when He was replying to Kathleen's request that an MRI be performed on My left Shoulder. He said; "Why Bother You Can't have a Question with a Potato?" He also said that I would never walk again. While it is true that I most likely will never run a Hundred Yards in Ten point Two seconds again. I can see that Fifteen seconds could indeed happen.

My Father after hearing what that ignorant, Charlton, no Nothing, Hack had said to My Sister. My Dad became enraged! My Father said to Me: "When You are able to be Physical You need to go Beat that Doctors a**! No IU will not go and beatthat Doctors a**. For if I did go and beat that Doctors a**, it would be a very unreasonable thing to Do. Can You say; Doctor abuse?

Speaking of a cool hang gliding song there was one a long time ago. Back in the seventies there was a small rock band in Colorado that flew hang gliders. They would perform at hang gliding events and came out to SoCal at least once. They performed at a hang gliding trade show that if I remember correctly was held in Long Beach. i only remember one song title of their music that day.

The title of the song was "Mister Cool". It was about Dave Cronk soaring a Quicksilver at one of the Rocky Mountain HG sites. The band leader said he was inspired to write the song while watching Dave cruising around in the sky and looking so cool while doing so.

Maybe Craig knows the song? I'll bet the band performed in Telluride probably multiple times, since it was a Colorado band. Maybe it was even based there but my thinking is the Denver area.

Unfortunately the band leader was killed not long after that and I never heard the band again. I also don't remember the name of the band.

Hi Frank and other Hawk Pilots:

You know here are two thoughts that I have running around in My Head. One; A flying friend of Mine said to Me one day. He said to Me; Chris, You know Your Pound was a "Call to Arms" for us. For the way I see it if You pounded when You were in the process of landing. Any of Us could pound. Well it took me 21 Years to Pound. But Pound I did Pound. I will state here that coming back from this pounding has been the most difficult thing that I have ever done in my Life.

MY NEXT FLY-IN. Yes I do indeed want to hold another Fly-In off Mount Diablo. When I get it Together and have a Weekend set. It would be so cool if some of You Guys would make the Trip up here to the SF Bay Area, and Fly in My Fly-In.

MANUAL, MENTAL DEXTERRITY RESURRECTION:

I will Be typing away on my New-Old Manual Type righter. Any thing I can do to enable My regaining control over My Hand and My Digits is a Good thing. Check this out My Father typed as fast as one hundred twenty one words per minute! !21 Words a Minute. Is that Smoking Fast or What. Hell I would be content if I could only type 90 words per minute.
