Even without a pulley or two to tension be watchful when unhooking the haul-back or if it should slip out of your hand that the haul-back hardware doesn’t tear the hem of the sailcloth.

So the shape of the Predator Wing must be fairly close to being optimal. I mean I look at the Success that I have had with the Glider while Flying. I mean when I goy Low while Flying an XC route, I Would do the standard Xc things that all of Us do such as visually searching for contrasts between light and Dark below Me. I would try to find the dividing line between light colors, such as Crops, and say a Plowed Field. I would Zig-Zag along that dividing line between the Plwes Field say and Crops, or even Forrest. I would Find lift. One aspect regarding the Predators abilities. The Predator is capable of using vey Weak lift, and therefore not ending up needing to land.

Guys You must be getting the Message that is; I simply love My Glider. How about You and Your Glider?

I have a case of Gotta Fly Itis so bad. I mean it has been Twelve and a Half Years since My Last Flight! Yes I Gotta Fly.

So I do hope that I am not going to be chastised for putting up a Post that is off subject. For I just want to comment on how awesome My Glider is. Yes my Predator is Awesome, I was talking to John Yesterday. i asked John; Did you think that when You designed Your Predator that Your design would be kicking Tail regrding other Gliders a Couple of decades after it was designed? John replied; "I never thought of it that way' As most of you know john is a pretty Quiet Humble Guy. But i say PREDATOR! What a Glider. i could not fly My predator today. Even if I could get it to a launch. The reason for that is My Predator must have an IRAN performed on it before John or I Fly it.

Well here I am sitting on the edge of My seat with anticipation regarding My Flying the Great Glider once again. It will be quite interesting how i will be able to Fly, when I fly again. Heck I am a Hundred Pounds lighter than the last time I flew, the weight loss alone will make a huge difference, correct? I weighed 298 on the Day of My Last Flight. I am 6'" and 3/4" tall, The 100 pounds that I lost was iasy. But the second Hundred Pounds that I want to loose will be hard. By the way I just made a joke. Like sure I am going to be a 6'3" tall Ninety Eight Pound Predator Pilot.

So if I have not lost My Skills regarding how to Fly, how to work lift. I believe what John said to Me; I think that the improvement in Your climb rate will blow Your Mind.

Do you have a handy space for your IRAN (inspect, repair as necessary) on the Predator?

Maybe on a cloud deck?

A post about the Predator in a topic about the Predator is just where it belongs.   :D

Thanks for the link Joe. That's an excellent article by John. Here's a particularly important passage from my perspective:

John Heiney wrote:Most hang glider pilots know the excellent feeling of hooking a thermal and climbing thousands of feet. But remember the absolute joy you felt the first time you circled in a thermal and climbed a hundred feet.

James Taylor expressed a similar idea quite well:

the Predator. Oh My !58! ou Gues just need to know how badly I want to Fly My 158! Heck the Pure Joy that My Predator has provided. I know that there will be a Better Flex-Wing when John deceieds to Build a follow up. But as Penny Chenery discovered; It is quite hard to Follow up a Horse like Secretariat. Just as John wopuld have a very hard time in developing a replacement for for the Predator.

Wel I have been going through a Real Low regarding My Flying. But as the saying Goes; {You can't Keep a Predator Pilot down}. This; "PHOENIX GUY IN THE SKY" will return to My Home, that is the Sky.
